I was originally only going to throw in sciencey illustrations into this piece, but the more I worked on it, the more I realized it pertains to all areas of learning. So I added a paintbrush for the creative arts, a ruler for mathematics, a seedling for environmental knowledge and climate awareness, a test tube for science and a wrench for trade skills. There's obviously many more areas then that, but I only had so much space 😊 . But all of these are important. All of these are necessary. We need doctors and plumbers and engineers and painters and astronauts and athletes and writers, and so many, many more. We can all learn from eachother. No one knows everything. All of us have different passions and interests, and we study those interests so we can get better at them. But you should never stop learning and gaining knowledge of the world around you. The more you know, the better you can be. So keep asking questions and exploring 💙 . This one was hard to photograph because of how light it is, but it's perfect in person. I'm always so inspired by this style of typography but have a hard time creating it myself. Finished this little lady last night! There are lots of little moments in this piece that I'm really proud of 😊 like the does' eye, the way her body lines up with the text (which was a "happy accident" as Bob Ross would say, lol), and being able to pull off some halfway decent mist/smoke. . Personally, I feel like this piece is way different than my norm. I definitely went out of my comfort zone on this one, and I'm happy I did. I almost feel like I leveled up, in a way 😊 I like to think that the more I draw, the more my talents grow and evolve, and this piece makes me feel like that could be true. . Ugh, sorry, #brag much? 🤣 I'm terrible, I know, lol. I'm just thrilled with this one and amazed at how it turned out! . Finished up my The Dark Crystal drawing! It was definitely a challenge doing it on this shimmery paper, but seeing it all finished is super rewarding. 😁

I'm super in love with this series. I can't get over the sheer amount of artistry and planning involved in pulling off hours and hours of just puppetry, not to mention coming up with a fantastic and engaging storyline. But even with all that, I was hard pressed to find a good quote to illustrate. I settled on this one because I think it's really recognizable for the series.

I almost don't want to part with it...but this little guy will be for sale at my next event, just like all my other color series illustrations. I guess I'll just have to draw another one to keep for myself 😋

I'm pretty sure I hear this whole video quoted at my house at least once a week 🙃 I know this post looks like some "simple" lettering, but for me, it was challenging. And I'm really proud of it. Funky lettering does NOT come easy for me. I'm much more comfortable drawing straight lines or script. I spent almost 2 hours on Sunday trying to figure out how to design the whole quote on the piece but got so frustrated I had to put it aside and do something else. Then I got home from work yesterday and sketched this design out in like 15 minutes! I'm so glad I didn't move forward with what I had been trying to make work on Sunday. It pays to take a break and focus on something else when you can feel yourself getting irritated. So as I mentioned in a previous post, my husband asked me to illustrate a specific series of quotes. Well, those quotes just so happen to be memes 🙂🙃🙂 Being the loving, geeky wife that I am, I happily obliged, but am also choosing to elevate them a bit, lol. This is the first in the series, so keep an eye out for the rest! (Also open to more ideas! 😉) For those unfamiliar with this one, it originated in Call of Duty as a cut scene action prompt to pay respects for a fallen soldier, which was mocked at the time because it was viewed as out of place for a memorial event. Finished up this little guy today! 😁 I did an original art trade waaaay back in October last year with another artist, @pat_dag on IG (her stuff is super cute, check it out!) and she requested something from Treasure Planet. Oh wow, did y'all hear about how there's a Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy TV show in the works at Hulu?! 😍😍😍 They're doing a modern version including all of the related books that Adams' wrote. I absolutely adored this book, loved the movie and am pretty excited about them expanding on the universe for a TV show!
