[Letting out a sigh, he felt a smile creep on his face, because Mary wouldn't ever lie to him.] "No you wouldn't." [Laying down on his bed, he kicked his shoes off.] "Absence makes the heart grow fonder. Never been one for that saying, but I'm going with it. Hey you want to come over and marathon Doctor Who in the living room. We can pull out the couch and fashion some kind of fort." [The forts in his life only grew more intricate and awesome as time went by. It was something EJ didn't think he'd ever stop doing.]
--
[Mary kicked her heels against her bed like a small child. Why couldn't they ignore their impending departures like normal people?] "Is that even a question?!" [She sat up in her bed and stretched, glancing around for a purse to throw a few things in.] "You're including two of my favorite things: Karen Gillan and couch forts." [She glanced down at herself in all of her pajama'd glory.] "I hope you can deal with how fab I look in these dragon slippers, however."

[She was right. Like usual, Mary was right. It wasn't the end of the world, and yeah, EJ knew that logically, but he /needed/ to hear Mary say. Needed to hear her say, that no matter how far away they are from each other physically, they were always right there.] "It is blasphemy, but it's you, so, instaforgive mode activated. Thanks Meemee."
--
"Would I ever lie to you, Abrams?" [Mary mutters, shaking her head. She glances around her bedroom -- at startlingly bare walls and boxes stacked in each corner, labeled "keep", "storage", and "trash", respectively -- and thinks about how they'll be apart and everything that's familiar and friendly will suck. A lot.] "...think of how great Christmas is going to be."

[Smiling in spite of himself, EJ felt just a few ounces of weight lift off of his heart. This feeling of relief, is exactly why he called Mary, she always had such a knack for putting things into perspective for him.] "Yeah, I guess you do, and I know I'm a teeny bit bias, but--" [pause] "If there's anyone who could make it as an actress in the land of actresses, it's you Meemee." [There was still one more thing. Just one more thing that kept him awake at night, and it was the bulk of the weight he carried.] "It's-- it's not Lima I-I wish I could take with me. It's you. And Grey. And Len. And my family. The people. You're my home." [he felt a tear form in the corner of his eye and he rubbed at it quickly.] "You're where my heart is. You're wh--who keep the li-li--light inside me burning." [That damn stammer betrays him yet again.]
--
[/You're my home. You're where my heart is./ God, if there were ever a collection of words that plunged a knife straight into her heart, those were it.] "Eric..." [pause] "We're not dying. We have phones and computers and before you freaking start, I /know/ it's not the same as being here but --" [She sighs.] "--you're making the best choice for your academic career right now, as lame as it sounds. Georgia's going to do so much for you, EJ. College isn't just about classes, you'll make connections and meet like-minded people...maybe you'll make some best friends other than Grey and I -- forgive me if that's blasphemy."
{ phonecall ☏ eric ⇄ mary }
[There were two things that caused EJ to toss and turn until eventually giving up on sleep, and watching Doctor Who.] "Lima may be too small for me, but Georgia Tech? That might be too big for me." [That was the first one. Georgia Tech was one of the top three schools in Mechanical Engineering. EJ was going to be a very insignificant and miniscule fish, in an ocean of sharks.]
---
"I reject your reality and substitute my own," [Mary replied immediately, a smile on her lips as she recalled a famous catchphrase picked up from their Mythbusters marathon days.] "You're going to /kick so much ass/ at Georgia Tech that people will kiss the ground you walk on." [She sat up in bed, humming.] "Sweetheart, I'm an aspiring actress moving to the land of aspiring actresses. I know how you feel."
{ phonecall ☏ eric ⇄ mary }
[Letting out a slight laugh, EJ ran a hand down his now, slightly stubbly jaw.] "I can't bring you to Georgia either." [pause] "Or Grey or Len or my family. I can't bring Lima to Georgia." [exhales harshly] "An--and even if I could, it-- it wouldn't matter because except for my family you guys wouldn't even be there."
--
[Momentarily stunned, Mary braces herself for a conversation she desperately does not want to have.] "...every baby bird has to leave the nest, EJ..." [She feels her chest tighten. He sounds upset, and she so desperately wants to fix that.] "Lima's too small for you, EJ. It always has been."

[EJ stops texting mid sentence and instead dials Mary's number]
[Surprised, Mary picks up her phone from her endtable next to her bed and answers] "Speak and be heard, oh ye of the Abrams clan!"

ej: there's no way for me to bring my room to georgia
meemee: ...there's a few physical constraints to that, yes.
meemee: where do i factor in?

MOODBOARD: PLATONIC LIFE PARTNERS; THE MERIC SAGA.
"I’m immune to the eyes. Don’t do anything. Remain in your house. I’ll skin you alive otherwise."
"That’s not very nice, Mary. I need my skin. You won’t take my skin from me. You love me too much."
{ eric “ EJ ” justin abrams & mary ” MeeMee ” elizabeth evans }
” Eric Abrams, if you blow yourself up I will harness the power to resurrect you and kill you again because you were an idiot. ”
” Yes ma’am, I know. No killing myself via my blow up powers, because I have no doubt that you’d be able to haunt me even though I’d be the one who’s dead. ”
MARY E. EVANS: MOODBOARD OO1.
"Is it time to run lines? Ça te dit?"
“ I need some college shoes, and there’s no wait I’m gonna afford them unless I work at the place. Plus, I can transfer. Believe me though. I’d prefer to work at Emporium with your dad. No competition. Half my paycheck goes there. “
"Are those shoes made of diamonds? Dad's been lamenting his upcoming loss in business lately. Apparently, the nerd was strong with our graduating class. "
“ Discounts at Foot Locker actually make working here worth it. Even if my life is dealing with kids who’s feet grow faster than they do. “
"I still think you're a bucket of crazy, Abrams. My dad's been begging you to take a job at the Emporium, and yet you're dead set on sneakers."
"Me?"
He noticed it when he came in. Everyone was just in high spirits in this place and that automatically made Dean feel comfortable. It was a rare thing for the gamer to find a spot he could visit often and he was glad that he found something as unique and compatible to his liking. “I could tell. This place doesn’t feel like it’s owned by a business suit type of guy and that’s crazy rare.” He admitted. “I like it. It’s a nice feeling.” The blonde gave her a smile.
"Honestly? The apartments are pretty cheap here and it’s right around my budget. So, I guess that’s a valid reason, right? If not - uh, I guess I’m kinda stumped. So far Lima feels like my hometown. Kind of small but it seems like for some reason it grows. Hard to explain." He admitted with a sheepish shrug. His brow quirked at her announcement. College wasn’t really his thing but he did give respect to those that chose the path of education. "Nice. Good choice in comics, pretty and smart. This place is going to lose one hell of a person. I’m Dean."
"Something tells me they'll be appreciating your business here," Mary said, sliding off the counter just as one of her father's employees walked by the register, glaring at her display of nonchalance. -- "Keep walking, Stephan!-- And that you'll slay the competition on Throwback Game Nights. I think they're dusting off an N64 for Friday." Ah, there it was. Eighteen years of being Sam Evans' daughter, all coming to fruition in the form of being a total nerd.
His next comment had her laughing. "Ha! Thanks. I'm Mary." She leaned back against the countertop, drumming her fingers on the plastic. "So, have you had the chance to check out any other local attractions?"
