Picked up another @springfieldarmoryinc 1911. This time, a Defenders Series, Mil-Spec. Only changes made were the hammer and beaver tail. . I honestly was not expecting these @saviorequipment shooting mats to be as big as they are because of how they fold up, which is totally awesome! . I can’t wait to put this mat to use because I don’t typically zero in the prone. More often than not, the range I go to is usually sandy in the areas I shoot in and I’m not a fan of laying in sand/dirt while I’m all sweaty on those hot days. . Because of how light the mat is and how easily it folds up, it’s a breeze to just toss it in the truck and go. My first impressions of the mag are definitely favorable. I think the small space it takes up when trying to bring a bunch of stuff to the range is a huge plus. It’s also made of some very nice and very durable materials and slight padding (akin to all of the Savior Equipment range bags I’ve got) that I have no doubt will last with typical use. . Like I said, I can’t wait to get out there and put this shooting mat to use. I’ve been wanting to get a mar for a while and luck happened to hit at the right time! Welp. I might have a Galil ACE addiction. Just added another “future SBR” to the mix, the @iwi.us Galil ACE Rock and Lock (RNL) 13” in 5.56. . The military model of this particular pistol would be the ACE 22. . After only handling it a little bit, I absolutely love how balanced it feels. One thing that I can easily point out is how smooth the action feels on this thing. It feels better than my 8” RNL model, and somewhat on par with my 8” 5.45 model. The safety has a very positive click which is cool. . My one gripe would be the markings. I feel like with each release, IWI is getting lazier. Originally, all ACE models had the color fill done on both sides for the selector markings. With the 5.45 drop (including the 8” RNL and this 13”), they stopped doing the color fill on the ejection side of the receiver but kept doing the color fill on the plastic lower. With this drop, they also stopped doing the color fill on the charging handle side on the plastic. I know it’s not too big of a deal because anyone can do the color fill, but it’s just one of those small details that make it seem like a slap in the face. Every drop has cost the same, yet we are skimping out on the little things. Despite this though, I do still love my new Galil ACE and can’t wait to hit the range with it. Picked up another @americantactical.us Galeo, this time, the 13” pistol with a Bone Steel brace. . I just got my ARM model back from @americantactical.us after needing some warranty work and I’ll update on that situation on a separate post. I haven’t been able to confirm the fixes yet, but I’ll at least say that the customer service was pretty stellar this time around and the turnaround was ridiculously fast. My only complaint so far is how I was ignored by the @americantactical.us Instagram account when I brought up some concerns. My posts were “seen” but never responded to. If it weren’t for the customer service, that alone, would have made me avoid picking this up. . Anyway, here’s the Galeo SAR and here’s to hoping it’ll work correctly! Had to do another post of my @iwi.us Galil ACE rock and lock as I’ve gotten closer to my Battlefield 4 ACE 21 CQB. . Thanks to the dudes at @therockguns I now have a “custom” Trijicon RX-01 mount that mirrors the game. The mount was originally pretty high, causing me to use a chin weld rather than a cheek weld. Well, that problem has been solved because @therockguns had a team that was able to achieve what I was looking to have done with my mount to bring the optic down lower and have the knobs for quicker detachment rather than the hex screws and wonky old school mount. .
