-Introverted- I think it is very easy to forget At least I do it quite often Forget that is I forget how sometimes That "Just" being is exactly what I need to do I forget how being in woods let's my mind rest. Today marks the day I’m starting my second year of daily poetry and I would like to invite poets and people I like to try this with me for a week. So Introducing: Write a poem a day challenge! The rules are simple: Write one poem each day and post it (either written or read or both, whatever you are comfortable with) the same day with the #onepoemadaychallenge hashtag. Do this every day for a week and invite one person (or more) whose poetry you’d like to hear with each poem you post.  If you want to take up this challenge after reading about it then please join us and invite people you like!  And most importantly: Have fun with this. I will write more about my reasons for starting this challenge during the week and will live read some of my favourite ones (given permission) the days after the challenge. -Poem 366- Time It flies It runs It flows We never have enough of it And we never will There will always be things We wish we had had time for. You are going to waste your time On so many things But That's ok That's how we learn I hope you find good things to waste your time with And good people whose time you can waste in exchange for them wasting yours. I've wasted part of every day the last year with writing 1 poem each day. And I'm looking forward to do so another year. Tomorrow starts a new year of wasting my time on poetry. -Do the thing- When you are wondering wether you should do a thing or not. Remember A lot of people are going to go Bukowski on you. Saying stuff like If it doesn't flow from you Don't do it Or if you aren't prepared to bet it all You're a hack And they'll say this with conviction Or else they'll say you'll never make a career out of it Or that you would get ahead in life if you spend your time on other things. Now. The two last ones most very well be true in so far as money and such goes. But Like... So what? Seriously. I mean it. Why would that matter? Do the thing. If it brightens your day Do the thing. If it gives you ways to handle the stresses and tensions of life? Do the thing. If gaining mastery of it makes you smile Do the thing. IF YOU "JUST" LIKE DOING IT Do the god-damned thing. -Blissfully mundane- Today would be one of those days glossed over if my life was a story. Because nothing truly of note happened. Let's talk about goals Goals can be huge and far off, the "Let's chase that horizon"-type. These are great for keeping your course steady. Keep going in the general direction of that shining beacon and you'll end up there sooner or later. Goals can be of a tangible size and far nearer, the "My plans for the year" kinda type. Good for taking you closer to the huge goals, and for developing the skills you need. Keep sectioning the journey into these surmountable challenges and you'll have a tonic when your are weary of the road. Goals can be small yet significant and imidiate, the "What do I want/need to get done today"- type. These are easily overlooked yet are the ones most crucial to master for any large endeavour to succeed. If the first type is the destination and the second type the mapping of the road. Then these would be the steps you take was you travel down that road.
