“Sophie! Move!”

She heard a familiar voice echo her name. Without a second to waste, she did as she was told. She stumbled to her feet and ran as fast as she could despite her injuries.

She trusts him.

The Prime charged, tackling into the opposing mech that nearly grabbed his sparkmate. The two machines crashed into the ground, slamming their fists into each other’s helm.

Finally he rolled off, transforming into his vehicle mode before driving towards Sophie with his passenger door open.

Trico's eyes glowed a worried purple. This metal person resembled the guards who had hurt him, though this one was WAY bigger, and had different armor. Trico wasn't nearly as large, but still. He would fight if he had to. He growled softly, his ears flattening to his head, and his feathers fluffed out in all directions.

Hearing the growl, the Prime stood readily for a fight, turning around to see who was trying to flank him. As he searched, his optics finally came upon what was like an organic canine from what he could surmise.

Still, his metal digits curled into a fist, ready in case this creature was hostile but he was not going to make the first move.

Skylie approached him, head tilted to one side.

“What’s wrong?” she asked softly.

“Seems rather silent compared to recent days,” the Prime’s holoform murmured before taking a seat on a nearby crate.

“…You’re not even hearing me, are you?”

“I am. I hear you loud and clear.”

Cue in the awkward ‘back of the head’ scratching. She’s STILL staring.

The holoform chuckled, shaking his head as he inquired, “You haven’t changed...”

The Prime was still in sleep mode, parked in his usual area in the base as he had planned to recharge for only a few cycles.

Sophie caught his gaze and ultimately looked down his shirt. Specifically his pectorals.

“Y’know what? Nevermind. The shirt’s fine.”

“...You’re not even hearing me, are you?”

“It… can be distracting to others. They can peak inside and see your chiseled, toned out pectorals.”

The holoform looked up at her, rolling his eyes as he replied, “I still do not understand those sorts of sentences, Sophie...”

"...I do not understand why this shirt is problematic.”

“Well that answers my question. No– Well I mean, sort of. It’s uh. It’s hard to explain and I probably shouldn’t have mentioned it, especially if you’re not part of it so if you could just…maybe forget I asked you that question that would be great.”

“Then you are to do the same with my secret,” he told the young man, feeling a bit appalled that he was going to be silent about some contracted killer being on the loose here.

She averted her gaze, though the embarrassment doesn’t seem to subside. She’d nearly forgotten how easily she could break down in front of him. Her lips pressed against his own again before parting and resting her forehead on his shoulder.

“Don’t go away for too long this time.” she muttered beneath her breath.

“I will try...”

That was all she could promise her. He wouldn’t know what the next mission will be or how far it would take him from her. He couldn’t even promise that he will come back at all. All he could do or say is that he will try, and by the Allspark, he will try hard.

“I know, I know. But hey, I got your attention at least”. She exclaimed, knowing her line would gain a reply from him. “ Sounds stupid or even lame..but I needed an escape. Just time alone. I won’t get in your way, promise”.

Finally getting a look at the woman, Optimus glanced up and down to assess that she seemed to appear as just a civilian. He sighed, realizing that if she was able to get all the way in here, their security was lacking.

Taking a note bring it up at the meeting, he relayed, “Who are you hiding from?”
