MY FAVORITE PEOPLE❤️
It seems there are still some people out there who wish to belittle, disregard and reject Michonne's importance to Rick. So for those who seem to have such a problem with Rick and Michonne let me just say:
This is Michonne Grimes
She is everything to Rick Grimes. His partner, his lover, his confidant, his best friend, his saviour, the mother of his children, his sun, moon and stars, she is his wife, his soulmate and the love of his life. She is his entire universe, his reason for everything and he would choose her in any life and any universe.
Contrary to what I've seen some people say, Rick would not walk away from Michonne if Lori miraculously returned from the dead, he would not do so if Jessie came back either. Had Lori or Jessie lived, Rick and Michonne still would have found their way to each other because they are meant to be, in any lifetime and in any and all versions of reality.
Rick is the man who didn't think of moving on even after 8 years, who wrote love letters and dreamt about her to keep himself going, and lets not forget what he had to do just to be able to go on without her. And for Michonne, she couldn't truly believe he was gone despite the fact she saw the bridge he was stood on literally explode, she kept believing and searching for years, never moved on and went through hell to find him again.
The Walking Dead and especially The Ones Who Live have made it exceptionally clear what their relationship is, how important they are to each other, how deep and unbreakable their love is and how they would go to the ends of the earth for each other. Not everyone is going to feel a connection to Richonne, I get that and I'm not trying to say otherwise (despite the fact I don't think I'll ever understand how anyone can watch their love story and not fall completely in love with their love!) but canon is canon, you can not feel a connection to them and still respect their story and acknowledge that they are 'it' for each other. To disregard that is to ignore their whole story.
Michonne Grimes is Rick Grimes one true love, she is his whole world, she and their children are his priority, he will put them before anyone else, and yes, even above Daryl. So, while we are all entitled to an opinion no one can really deny that Rick and Michonne are completely and utterly head over heels in love, someone's personal view of them as a couple does not change that fact.
This is THE couple of The Walking Dead and IMO the best couple to have ever graced the screen. They are everything to me and they are everything to each other
I love every bit of this and must repost as often as I see it.
♥️Reveling in Richonne - TOWL
#39: The Love of My Life (1.04)
gif cred: @figmentof
Now for years, I’ve pretty much acted like ‘love of his life'/'love of her life’ are Richonne’s official pronouns. So many of us have been referring to Rick and Michonne as the love of each other's lives for ages. And to now have an in-show moment where that's expressed directly - Heavenly. 😇 And I’ll be gushing about it for forever.
This scene is a magnificently acted and heartrending knockout. 👏🏽 And it's especially powerful because it's in this moment that Michonne gets to be so vulnerably honest about her pain and what/who has been causing it recently 🥺...
Michonne has had Rick heavy breathing, mouth wide open since day one😭
Facts! 🤣🔥❤️🤣❤️🔥🤣
one of my favorite things about them is that he looks like he feels just as safe with her as she does with him. he lets his guard down completely when he’s with her. and as a man who’s notorious for having an extremely keen eye on everyone and everything all the time, watching him melt in her arms is beautiful to see.
Ugh…🥹😩
It's been 15 years since we were introduced to Michonne's husband, aka Mr. Rick Grimes as played by the lovely and talented Andrew Lincoln. I'm thankful to The Walking Dead for bringing Carl, Judith, & RJ's dad into my life. I know he's having the best time spending Halloween night with his wife & kids.
Happy Anniversary Ricky Dicky!
The answer is Michonne, it's always Michonne.
Richonne are magical, and Michonne is truly Rick’s ride or die, and he knows how lucky he is.
This man is starving for his WIFE!! For the comfort of his WIFE!!
He was aching to touch his wife.
This is what I think he would have said if there had been dialogue....
"I need you".....
"Please Chonne...."
"I love you..."
These are just my thoughts. Time to write this out.
Any and everything we could've thought for this scene would've been right. We didn't need the words, the looks and breaths said everything. Their love, need, and passion is without limit. This scene right here. 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I might be wrong but I feel like the Rick we got in TOWL (the one reuniting and connecting with Michonne) was the Rick pre- apocalypse.Of course his love with Michonne is stronger than with Lori no competition but I feel like he was the romantic type, the kind of guy that would confess his love, the bond with Michonne just made it stronger.
I felt the same way!!! It's kind of like Rick Michonne being together let's them forget the chaotic, dangerous world around them. Like they are the only two people in the world.
Rick has definitely always been a romantic. I don't see how he wouldn't be, you know? Like he loves so deeply and he's such a family man. Him being romantic makes perfect sense to me. We just didn't see it with Lori because well..... she didn't let him be that guy lol. Pre-apocalypse they were always fighting. He would try to fix things and she would deny him. She even made a very awful comment about him not caring about her or Carl right in front of Carl himself which is just so cruel. They were always destined for divorce. He couldn't be who he was and Lori wasn't who she wanted to be.
Michonne accepts Rick for all that he is and he gets to be his full self. She's never denied any part of who he is. She loves every single thing about him. Every single thing.
Sooooo, is this not Rick and Michonne's commitment ceremony for anyone else? She's been Michonne Grimes since 7x12 Say Yes as far as I'm concerned.
Yes. This is why the TOWL S1 E5 scene in the woods with the ring and his "Til my last breath I am yours" and her "It could only have ever been you" was a vow renewal, not a proposal. On the surface it might seem like mere semantics, but it's actually so very important.
The title of TWD S7 E12 alone tells us that a question has been posed. Them talking about what comes next is about more than just what comes next for the communities—it's about what comes next for them. Rick lets her know that yeah, I could do this alone... I have the capacity to... but I don't have the desire. I only want to do any of this with you by my side.
Put another way, it's like when a kid asks their teacher "Can I go to the bathroom" and the teacher responds, "I don't know—can you?"
With this moment in "Say Yes," Rick is asking Michonne for permission support to be the person he knows he could be in this new world. He's asking her to build a future with him, by his side as a partner, as a lover, as an equal, as a friend.
She says yes.
Sure it didn't include an official ring a la Glenn and Maggie and sure it didn't include the specific words, but this is the apocalypse—they're far beyond those standard markers by now. Here, in this life? This is as much of a commitment as you can hope for.
(Not to mention the candlelight! The dinner! His nervousness! Her melting at his words!)
That's why when Rick gives her a ring all those years later in TOWL S1 E5 and he reaffirms his commitment and love to her, it's not a question. It's not a suggestion. It's not a proposal that they continue their life together or take it in a more elevated direction. It's a renewal of the vows they've already made and executed through word and deed.
I remember seeing some folks flag that it looks like they removed the sound of Rick actually saying the line "Will you marry me?" because you can kinda see him mouth the words and I'm glad they did. Because what you asking for playboy?
She already said yes.
You can love a character and still admit when they’re wrong. I love Rick but i can acknowledge his flaws (he has none) & can hold him accountable for his wrongdoings (he’s never done anything wrong in his life) & call him out for his actions (which are always correct).
Lmao I don't twd but the why in the gifset where she's like "don't ever touch me!" does he already look like "dammmmmnn that's hot" Is his face just like that???? Did the actor know where it was going before the writers lmfaoo
looooool
listen he knew where HE wanted it to go. there is substantial Lore about him basically deciding the moment she joined the show that he wanted her to be his love interest. so his face being like that was simply him manifesting.
That's Andy's Leading Lady. Period! And he's always looking out for her.
I am a twol S2 truther idk. If you’re just as delusional as me…. Here is my proof…
- if you recall, when they announced that they were doing a Richonne series, it wasn’t announced as limited…. Suddenly, AMC threw limited on there, which makes sense… comic con is coming up, they need something to announce there
- during the filming of TOWL, there were so many side actors and backgrounds, who would accidentally say, “ see you for season 2.” There post are no longer available.
- Gale Anne Hurd… a producer, accidentally posted in February, a link to getting cast for S2.
- the most obvious one… Scott said he wants them all to come together, so we know we’ll see them again in an endgame, but the CRM isn’t completely done. Portland still exist, in order to get to that Endgame, Richonne still have more story to tell.
- danai says, “ we’ll figure that out on the next one…” when ending her scene.
- the biggest one! NO ONE CAN GIVE A STRAIGHT ANSWER! When they asked danai she goes, “ now you know I can’t answer that.” Why Danai? As it stands there’s only one season, so why cant you just say no? Saying no wouldn’t be a spoiler, because if it was no, you would just say no. When they asked Andy, he goes,” I like to think it stands alone, and it’s a dot dot dot.” An ellipses means that there is more. Scott says, he has more story to tell, and that he usually has a good track record of his dreams coming true. He is the fucking producer, and show runner , if anyone knows something it’s him, and like Andy said… they’re not one show anymore… there are multiple spin-offs… they’ve got to focus on DC, and Daryl and Carol right now…: Scott keeps saying he has more story, and keeps saying he would love to go on….
- the way it was advertised! If this was the last time we saw household names like Rick and Michonne, you really think they wouldn’t have had a cast interview. All we got was Andy in a field, and Dania doing a video lmfao.
- it being moved from limited to drama for the Emmy’s.
- S1 was always marketed as a Love story. For those complaining about not that much action, Michonne and Rick needed to get together before they completely rid the world of the CRM( portlan still exist… Silas, the spies… they didn’t get rid of the problem by killing Beale… they just got rid of someone who was going to unethically get rid of the problem… the problems still exist.) S1 was abt Rick and Michonne because as we saw in the mothership, when Michonne convinced Rick to fight Negan in the jail cell, before they could deal with the problem, they needed to be on the same page. S1 of TOWL was about them getting back on the same page.
- TWOL generated so much money for AMC.
Anyway, it doesn’t seem so delusional anymore is all I’m saying
