I’m not like really really here, just dropping in to say that art history can be wild, and Theo is 100% the kinda guy who would get absolutely obsessed with his muse if he was an artist and would make thousands of variation on their portrait.

Elijah gave a short nod as he continued to carry the limp body to safety. Once they were there, he sat the guy on the ground. “Yah, I’m pretty sure the sheriff will appreciate you not dying.” He nodded his head to the remaining sounds of what seemed to be a bloody fight. “Just don’t get used to it.”

“You ever heard of curiosity killed the cat?” Elijah sat down next to the guy, knees to his chest. “McCall is a pussy. He’s too…” He searched for the right word before sighing. “Heroic. He tries to save people who can’t be saved. Also he wouldn’t know subtly if it hit him in the face.”

Theo snorted - him, used to having his life saved by other people? Getting help without having to manipulate someone into getting it? He wasn’t getting used to that anytime soon. “I don’t think you have to worry about that.”

This guy - he seemed smart. Not blinded by what he thought the world was, or ought to be like. Objective. Logical. Where did he come from? “Can’t say I disagree with you on that. Curiosity can be helpful - especially if it helps you find like-minded people...” His neck protested, but the venom was wearing off quickly enough that he was able to tilt his head a little at him. “This town needs people who are willing to do what it takes.”

ok but what if Theo recognizes that agreeing to let Tara die was the thing that turned his fate and meant that he was never going to be able to lead a normal life again, that killing someone is the breaking point and that’s why in season six, after he has no goal to blindly pursue and really realizes how alienated from the rest of the world he feels - why he decides to help Liam not do the same mistake he has and stops him from killing people repeatedly.
