New Mexico...Changes Galore
Today marks the 1st year I have worked at the Albuquerque Studios which is exciting for me! Not to mention a new relationship which has lasted since March 2017. I feel a change in the wind!
I started working as a background actor, then a standin, for several films which were being filmed; which included the films "The Night Shift", "Get Shorty", and "Longmire". I have enjoyed working hard for as long as 14 hours straight! We check in, prop up, and just have fun!
I have been dating a wonderful man named Mike who has shown me so much love and patience. When my anxiety gets bad he is there to make it better. He has never once raised his voice or hit me. We met at his work about Thanksgiving when I was still dating Anthony, which ended by the way. Mike and I got together around my birthday but we waited to make it official. Since then he has taught me about forgiveness and how to love myself again. Even encourages me to go film which I love he respects.
We just got an apartment together by the way. Our first home together!!! ❤❤❤
If I didn't leave Georgia I wouldn't have had this opportunity to love fully and whole heartedly once more.
#ThrowbackThursday to my first gig...to me now in 2017!!! Bigger role!
On Starting Over Again...Kids, Boyfriend, Etc.
bI can’t believe, after 2 years of complete hell, I have escaped and I am FREEE!!! What started out as a wonderful relationship, which turned into a 2 year nightmare, I feel it is best to clarify a few things to ya’ll out there who know a very few things about what I went through...
I was seeing my bestfriend from 2014-2015 after he went through, as he called it, an abusive relationship, I was very naive and very very unaware of where things were going. Being only 20 I felt things were going well since we WERE, in fact, bestfriends about the time and friends end up together...most of the time. We started off very very slow and we progressed to a year together. Dinner dates, trips to Savannah, and historical museum trips were where we went most of our time together(which I miss don’t get me wrong)..after a year together I felt we were going to be married the following year
Shortly in October of 2015 a very very scary thing happened. My ex suffered a Schizophrenic attack...which is not his fault now I think about it nine months later of us being separated. He went from adoring boyfriend to maniac in a short few weeks. One day I was ironing his clothes and he had an episode and told me to get his cigarettes. I did...then he picked up the iron and threw it at me. I blocked my face and it left a permanent scar. Since that incident things changed drastically for us. I could no longer see my family or be with my friends. I was watched and told I was cheating constantly. I felt isolated. Trapped. Confused. Life was awful. My family and friends knew something was wrong but I felt he would hurt my family and friends if I told. His mom and stepdad knew what happened but refused to help me. My world was collapsing...
In June 2016 I found a way to get out. My parents told me the plan was to move to New Mexico and I had a choice to go if I wanted, I was not sure if I wanted to go...I had an amazing job at the airport and people who helped me when I could when I felt scared and helpless in the situation I was in at the time. Plus I still loved my ex...love is a strange feeling especially when you are in love with someone who doesn’t give a dam about you...I made the decision to leave and told my ex, who no doubt beat my arm til it was black and blue. But thankfully I found the strength to leave.
Arriving in New Mexico was scary at first. I had no friends or support outside my family. Then the day we arrived I realized I needed to get a job and keep my ex out of my mind. I went to Hillcrest Family Restaurant and applied. I didn’t know what to expect. I was called that night and was asked if I wanted to come into an interview the next day. I went and thank God I DID...my manager Heather enjoyed working with me since Day 1...I became close with the cooks, waitstaff, and managers. These people saved me in ways I cannot thank enough.
Which brings me to the very happy ending...that’s still being written..
I started to become very very VERY close with a cook at Hillcrest named Anthony...when my ex managed to stalk my number down Anthony was there to comfort and listen when no one else would. Anthony became my shelter when it rained hard. I became his ear when he needed someone to talk to as well. He has two very intelligent and amazing boys who never asked to be put in the situation they’re in. Long story short Anthony has been through a lot and just needs someone to love him unconditionally. Anthony started talking in October 2016 and we became official New Years 2017. I help Anthony with his two wonderful children who have grown quite fond of me being around. I help take them to school and just spend time with the kids when they have no school. With the help of those kids and Anthony I am beginning to heal once again. I met Anthony’s parents and sisters and brothers(they are very fond of me BTW)
Starting over again has taught me it’s OK to fall in love again. Anthony learns more about me each day as do I about him too. We are patient and kind towards each other...Anthony even lets me do films and my theater projects, which I’ll get to later.
Thank you, Anthony and everyone else, for allowing me to heal at my own pace.
The ending is being written.(:(:(:<3
Five days ago was our 10 month anniversary(:
Call it dating, seeing each other, enjoying each other’s company, etc.....but I call it “GROWING”! Thank you for choosing me to be the one you can grow, and be yourself, with! I am so incredibly blessed to be your girl! Thank you for letting me grow, and be MYSELF, with you! Thank you for your patience you handsome thang you!!!!(:
PS: MORE exciting news to follow in possibly two to three months(; NO April Fools joke!
New Relationships, Good Food, Exciting News, ETC...(:
For the past three months things have been a blur...first off my boyfriend, Michael, and I felt we needed a break after things got too big for us to handle. We took a two month break and after that we got back together. Things have not been the same since. He worries about my happiness and recently got a job at a sanitation plant where he is making $10.50 an hour. We plan on moving in together possibly in two years. We want to still be married but this will take time and a lot of patience. Recently we just made the next major step and now we wait for the results(:!!!
I have gotten an amazing job at the airport, more on that later when even MORE exciting news MIGHT POSSIBLY show up!!! I have been working there since December 25, 2015 and I am proud to say this is one job where I feel I can connect with so many of the girls working there!!! :) We all work as a team and I love our manager Karen and Sherryl!!! They are possibly the best people I have worked with in my life!(: (Will write more down the road as I continue my work at the airport)!!!
As for my acting I have come to the conclusion I need to be financially stable if I want to travel to places like LA, CA, or anywhere that I could possibly, and I will according to Michael, become a big star! Michael supports me in my dream of acting as much as I support him in his dream of becoming a big time producer in music!!!!!(: We both were in “The Miki Howard Story” playing a couple kissing. We hope to continue doing films together as the industry has been getting bigger in Savannah!!!!(:
That’s all for now folks!
Status Update: Engaged and engraved. Since 06/11/15 Happy girl P.S. this fine man will be getting getting on getting on his white horse and traveling with me across the country while I film 💍💎💐💒
Enjoying summer with this little one.

Acting in Every Day Life (Mostly My Story) :)
Introduction:
I was always an odd child growing up...not to say my life made me the odd one, I had loving parents, brother, and sister, when she came along, and they were and always will be my number one fans...yet I always had different ideas of the world, which weren't anyone else's, and most likely that kind of confidence and starness scared many people to thinking me to being a weird person. Oh yes, I was picked on because of it, because of this bullying I often cried all to myself thinking I wasn't good enough for anyone, not even my own family. As being adopted from China, I was the only Asian, ok Chinese since my brother was from Vietnam in Asia, I was an easy target. The only thing that kept me going was cheerleading, which I quit 3 months afterwards because that was boring me (surprising isn't it?), and my amazing best friend and ONLY friend, Savanna Bailey. She was and still is my best friend in the whole world and I can go to her for anything which makes her double amazing especially during those harsh times for me from 2001-2005/2006.
Eventually, my father got another job where we live now in Savannah, GA. as a ranger at Fort Pulaski National Monument and we moved swiftly afterwards. Since I was not good at making friends (DUN DUN DUN) my parents, more my mom, decided it was best if I become involved in an activity that I could express myself...theater arts! I became involved, very, and made friends easily. It was a wonderful experience embarking me on my long road to success!
Play ON!:
After I started theater in 2006, I had six wonderful years performing in twelve shows! Life was wonderful! I made many friends along the way. Many of my girls: Lily Parker, whom I met during Cinderella 2011, Lexy Bonsignori, Grace Repella, Anna Schneider, Anna Kellam, Jaz Solana, Bailey Keith, and so so so many others. Never a dull moment.
Some of the plays I did were as followed:
1) Music Man Jr.
2) Peter Pan
3) Oliver
4) Ever After
5) The Hobbit
6) Village Fable
7) Cinderella
I played minor characters for many of my roles, yet I still had a lot of fun. The friends and good times were all I saw when I performed, no matter how small or large my role was.
Goodbye Play....HELLO Big Leagues!!!:
After I left the theater in 2011, I wondered if I could ever be the same person I was before. I mean, I didn't change my physical appearance, just my emotions became bitter as I was learning that I wasn't able to go back to the way things were before. Things were changing, yet I didn't know this was a good sign till a year later. Soon enough, I graduated in May 2013 after what seemed only a blink of an eye for me. I went on to college and I developed a NEW hobby, which has saved my skin to this day...movie acting.
It all started in early February and a film crew came to Fort Pulaski where my dad works, still, and I didn't think anything of it, I just thought I'd watch the filming progressing at the fort. I was in for a surprise that day. Meeting the main director and assistant director was stomach-knotting and exciting. I soon became good friends with the assistant director, David Rousseau, who I am still close to this day and age. Rousseau hired me to work, nonpaying, on the film and I agreed though not before making a HUGE sacrifice, which is in fact another story I will tell but not today. The film was called, "Abraham Lincoln vs. Zombies" and it was one exciting film to work on! I met the main pro and antagonists of the film, who were all very sweet and understanding as usual. I worked as a zombie in 30 deg. outside standing on a hill all day through lunchtime. Then I worked another weekend in an old abandoned supply store underground for about three-four hours in an attic till lunchtime, then after lunch approx. ten-and-a-half hours in the basement of the store. Hectic, but fun. Seeing myself on Netflix Instant Watch was/is very amazing to me, and also how it makes me feel knowing how far the film had come! Always worth it in the end!
After the ALVZ movie, I was determined to do more films and acting things. I became a part of the Savannah Film Office Actor Facebook page and got/am still getting updates on films that are to be filmed here in Savannah, Atlanta, SC, etc. All I do is email the people a resume and head-shot, then they contact me based on the contact info on the resume or head-shot. After I get the info, I wait till shooting day, then I get directions and go for the shoot! I have been in two, soon to be four or MAYBE five, SCAD films for the Senior projects for the SCAD school. Acting in Senior projects is more enjoyable because they are not serious movie makers, so in a way they are still teenagers wanting to have fun and enjoy themselves. However, out of all the events, I am happy I am a part of the film family!
ARE YE READY KIDS? ONE MORE YEAR TO GO!!!:
As a member of the Savannah Actors Guild, I am notified of many different films being filmed. One such a movie was Paramount Picture's "Spongebob Squarepants 2" and I sent in an email with a resume and head-shot with contact info, thanks to that email, I landed a role in the movie! I can not spoil too much since we have till 2015 of November to wait! Oh boy...all I can say is the experience was remarkable and I made many new friends on set! One more year to go! Till then, I am still filming and when one films so many movies at different times of the year, you lose track of time and time goes faster than you think!
Glamorous For the Premiere:
Every person who is a part of a film, or two, will experience what we actors call "Premiere" where we all get together and we watch our work and friends working their butts off(: Being at a premiere means dressing fancy, or as your character, and enjoying being with friends as well! It's like a reunion for actors, especially if you never see these people for a long period of time. It's quite an experience and fun(:
To Summarize:
Basically I have yapped enough for this blog, but anyway the point is I have come so far in my career and I hope for many wonderful experiences in the future. Actually I have my God and faith to thank, since faith gives me strength to get up and try again if I have failed. I have a lot to be thankful for and good friends to help me understand that.
Never give up hope. Dreams do come true. Mine came true. I got more than I bargained for when I prayed for a miracle. I am blessed...truly.

(This scene involves three characters, two male and female, two major and one minor role)
*Katina goes to Captain Turner to alert him of Sariah's going to be attempt to take food and supplies from the office. Gregory is at the door to the office where Captain Turner is.*
Katina: I bring urgent news I have knowledge of to the Captain.
Gregory (eyes her suspiciously): What exactly is this business?
Katina: Does it matter? Let me in now.
Gregory: Certainly, if you wish to speak with the Captain. *knocks on the door*
Captain Turner (from inside): You may enter. *Katina enters*
Katina: Sir, I bring urgent news that has been told to me this afternoon.
Captain Turner (hardly looking up): How urgent? Why should I trust you?
Katina: Listen, it's extremely urgent and you have every right to trust me.
Captain Turner (scratches chin): Yes, so I see. Unfortunately I can NOT trust you, at least not right away.
Katina: Sir, it regards your food and supplies.
Captain Turner (shrugs): What good is food and supplies when trust is the most important thing to me?
Katina: Sir, I have news someone from our camp is going to steal the food and supplies. *Captain Turner looks up and walks towards her.*
Captain Turner: And this person's name? *Katina grows pale*
Katina (losing color): N...name sir?
Captain Turner: Yes the name of the person. You of all Natives should know Katina.
Katina: We're no human as you are Captain Turner. *Captain Turner laughs*
Captain Turner: Shame. I was going to reward you beyond measure with treasure. *turns away*
Katina (curiously): Treasure? Sir?
Captain Turner: Yes, and OH...something you Natives desire more than anything...your freedom.
Katina: Our...freedom? *Captain Turner turns towards her and moves closer*
Captain Turner: Yes...everyone will go home.*Katina starts to shake* You, your precious family, tribe...all dumped in the wild where you belong. So..what will it be? I can make it easy or hard. Tell me the name of this...Native...
Katina (as though in a trance): Sariah. She's my best friend. Her daughter Althea is ill-fated and she will do it even when understanding the consequences. *realizing what she's done* You won't hurt her will you sir? *Captain Turner is writing down the name and smiles*
Captain Turner (smugly): Why my dear, I NEVER hurt a lady, Native or not. *laughs*
Scene Runthrough 6 For Auditions For "Heart Of A Warrior"
(This scene involves four men, major roles)
*Charly has met up with Amos, Gregory, and Sheldon after supper to just talk*
Sheldon (furiously): Well that's settled, I'm going to get more food. *starts to leave, but it stopped by Amos*
Amos: Hold on Sheldon, Captain Turner's orders were final. We're not to leave this base, more the less getting second helpings
Sheldon (gets up): Forget the orders, I'm a starved man!
Gregory: Don't lose your head Sheldon
Sheldon (angrily): Yeah well...you haven't slept day and night inside some rat's nest!
Gregory: We've slept through enough already Sheldon, so don't you dare tell me you've slept through worst!
Sheldon: No one has lost family like I have!
Gregory: Bet you haven't lost all of your friends like I have!
Amos: BOYS! Cut it out! Is this a way to show example to the newcomer? *Charly looks nervously from one man to another* Come sit down. What's your name lad?
Charly (stammers) Ch..Charles B. Hamstrung. I go by Charly. *shakes Amos's hand*
Amos: Honored to have you joining us Charly. This is Gregory and Sheldon.
Sheldon (shakes Charly's hand): Honored just the same.
Gregory: Yes, welcome. *Charly shakes his hand*
Amos: Where are you from Charly?
Charly: From Martinsburg, West Virginia. Very small town.
Amos: Parents?
Charly: Father passed in the war and mother is a nurse for wounded soldiers.
Sheldon: Brothers?
Charly: Two. Michael and Andrew Hamstrung. Michael is older than me by about two years and Andrew is younger than me by two years.
Gregory (muttering): Yes, but do you have any sisters?
Charly: My sister died when I was seven. She was only three. The typhoid fever is my belief considering it crushed my mother so.
Amos (softly): Dreadfully sorry lad.
Charly: Yes, it was a tragedy indeed. As much as my parents miss her, we all have to go on. I am not sure how I can go on myself, but I will somehow. *sighs*
Sheldon: What are you doing here then? Haven't you talked to the Captain *laughs, and Amos nudges him sharply*
Charly: The Captain?
Gregory: Every newcomer must register with the Captain in order to get a place in the workforce here.
Scene Runthrough 5 For Auditions For "Heart Of A Warrior"
(This scene involves two people, females, one major one minor)
*Sariah has gone to her friend, Katina for advice on healing Althea.*
Sariah (steps forward): You don't understand! This is urgent!
Katina (steps back): I have seen urgency! Leave me out of it!
Sariah (softly): But...this involves my child!
Katina (fury in her eyes): I have had enough dealings with children!
Sariah (in great desperation): But..only one YOU!
Katina (sternly): My place is here, in the barracks, not fetching supplies from under the Captain's nose!
Sariah (strong-willed): When it comes down to my child or village, I will take whatever chances I am given, even if it means death.
Katina (rolls eyes): Well that's the difference between you and me isn't it? YOU can take the risk, while I can not. Not when I have two children of my own!
Sariah (softly): What if one of them gets ill, close to death? You'd want to do something right? *takes Katina's hand*
Katina: Sariah, I know what you're doing, and it won't work! Captain's orders were clear that if we cooperate, we'll be home in no time! Now, if you don't want it to be that way then it's your loss. *backs up and takes her hand out of Sariah's outstretched hand* Our place is here Sariah. And this is where I tend to be.
Sariah (softly moaning): But...oh my child! What will Althea do?
Scene Runthrough 4 For Auditions For "Heart Of A Warrior"
(This scene involves two people, females, major roles. One is a child and the other is a woman.)
*Sariah is taking care of her ill-fated daughter, Althea, who is suffering convulsions and fever.*
Althea (shakes uncontrollably): I thought I heard a sound! A BANG! *Sariah tries to hush Althea who is bleeding and shaking without control*
Sariah: Shhh, hush darling hush!
Althea (tosses and turns): But....I...can't...HELP...you! No one can!
Sariah (close to tears): I know it's hard my love, try to keep still and relax...
Althea (shrieks): NO! I won't go! I won't take the drop!
Sariah (tries to calm her): Althea,
Althea (painfully): Mmm .........
Sariah: Darling, it's just a dream love! Wake up!
Althea: It's no use! NO USE I TELL YOU! *Sariah sobs while wiping away sweat and blood* THEY'RE CRAWLING ALL OVER ME! GET THEM OFF!!!!!!!
Sariah (trembles and cries): Oh God heal her I beg of you! *Althea wakes up, and shakes all over*
Althea (dazed): Ma...MAMA?
Sariah (smiles weakly): Yes my love, you're here in my arms! It was nothing more than a bad dream...
Althea: Yes...yes indeed. Mama it was all so strange!
Sariah: Strange?
Althea: I dreamed that I was consumed in madness...
Sariah (bites lip): Now Althea...
Althea: Yet, in a way, I was happy!
Sariah: Happy?
Althea: Yes mama, happy...for the reason that in a way, I was fully healed.
Sariah: Healed?
Althea: Yes, healed mama...in the oddest way
Sariah: I don't think I understand
Althea: You know? I must have dreamed I died!
Sariah (shaking): Oh darling! Don't speak like that! You're going to be better! You'll see!
Althea (misty eyed): But I DID mama! I DID die in my dream! And bugs were crawling all over me and....*Sariah slaps Althea hard across the face*
Sariah (angered, furious): DON'T YOU EVER SPEAK LIKE THAT AGAIN! DO YOU HEAR ME? *Althea shrinks back*
Althea (timidly): Yes mama....I understand...
Scene Runthrough 3 For Auditions For "Heart Of A Warrior"
(This scene involves three people, male and female, major roles)
*Sariah has been taken to Captain Turner to plead the release of her villagers, who amongst them is her child Althea.)
Sariah: Captain, I wish to negotiate your cooperation
Captain Turner (slightly bored): Indeed you do, now what is it you ask?
Sariah: I want you to release my people and free my child
Captain Turner: I need not bother for such trifles that involve your people
Sariah: But my people need food!
Captain Turner (raises eyebrows): Food?
Sariah (slightly embarassed): Water, supplies, blankets! I KNOW you have some Captain, sir. *Captain Turner looks from Sariah, to the many villagers outside the building, many of whom are sleeping, Captain Turner turns back to Sariah*
Captain Turner: Yes, indeed. But I'm afraid I can not help you.
Sariah (eyes wide): What!?!?!? Sir, I am BEGGING you! If we don't have those supplies everyone will die!
Captain Turner (slightly bemused): You do not understand
Sariah (close to tears, angered): No YOU don't understand Captain! My people are nothing without food, more food than water, and without this they will go MAD! CRAZY!!! Then they will destroy each other! What used to be such a quiet place is now a nightmare bustling with MADNESS! Either way they will die and I can not let that happen to little Althea, my child! Haven't you ever loved another, a child so badly you would DIE for them? *without waiting for Captain Turner to respond* Never mind, you'd never understand...I birthed Althea around this time you know. Very cold and very wet, yet I had her and I was as headstrong and brave as a warrior! Never looked back to my past either, which helped me the most. When Althea got sick with pneumonia I didn't think of what could be, I focused on the possibilities and miracles! When her father got taken away, I sheltered her as long as I could and eventhough it broke my heart I told her everything would be alright when I KNEW it wouldn't! Captain last night she got sick, so sick I was begging to God that he wouldn't take her from me! How I cried last night for her to be well! Then, Katina came to me and told me you had supplies! I came here and was hoping that you would be the answer to my prayers! Yet here you are, soaking in your foolishness and worst of all, you are the monster who created this madness! Well, monster or not I WILL get these supplies whether you like it or not! And I can do this the easy way or hard way...your choice. *waits for Captain Turner to respond*
