Unexpected cool twist

A super villain is shooting people with his raygun, and the civilians being shoot become the opposite sex. However, one woman is shoot, and instead of becoming a man she becomes more feminine.

Woman: *Lifts her skirt and sees below. She is happy that her body finally matches her mind* Thank you, Mr. Mad Scientist!

Super Villain: What?! I wanted to ruin lives, not make them better!

The super villain went around shooting random people on the streets, but the results aren’t what he expected. Some people are annoyed, but others are just touching their new boobs with fascination, and others seem apathetic of their new biological atributes. In fact, some seem to not have changed at all because of their nonbinary appearance.

Super Villain: Is anybody going to stop me?!

Random person 1: Dude, I still identify as a man, but I like how these boobs feel.

Random person 2: Well, at least now that I have a penis my girlfriend and I can finally have a kid of our own. Can you turn me to a woman again after we have a baby?

The Super Villain gets sad because he failed at causing panic, and now the League of Evil probably wouldn’t hire him. He returns to his lab and contemplates why he built this raygun in the first place. Maybe he wanted to finally build something useful after years of getting his ideas smashed by bitter professors and rich students that didn’t made an effort to get a scholarship. Maybe this was his only chance to get someone to accept him, even if it is something evil. Or maybe he built this raygun for other reason?

Super Villain: I wonder if…

He shoot himself and woke up feeling different. His skin felt soft, and his hips felt bigger. He looked at a mirror and saw something he didn’t thought it was possible.

Super Villain: I… I look beautiful!

She danced around the lab and ran outisde to to let the world see her true self. That day, the Super Heroine Dr. Morph was born, and she made her mission to make people with dysphoria feel like their true selves.

new genre concept: soft apocalypse

the world as we know it has ended and mother nature starts taking back what’s hers. there are no zombies or cannibals or murderous bandits. the most valued members of the community are those who know how to garden and farm, sew and weave, treat wounds, work wood or build with bricks, cook from scratch. 

people bond together to begin rebuilding instead of killing each other. everyone teaches each other whatever they do know and works together to figure out the stuff none of them know. books become incredibly valued resources because they’re often the only way to learn critical information. if someone is elderly, disabled, or otherwise unable to work at the same level as most of the community, they’re taken care of by the others, not told any sort of “survival of the fittest” bs.

as the generations ware on, communities begin expanding into small cities. some of the settlements even find ways to repurpose solar or wind power on a small scale and have electricity in some of their buildings. storytellers wander the countryside telling tales of the old world in return for some hot stew or a place to rest for the night, and the mythos of the new world start to incorporate elements of the past. the only thing that remains constant is that humans survive, and they do it by working together.
