things we carry
Burdens of lives not our own
Dig deep into our under-knuckles
Rough twine kept taut under the weight
Fingers thrum with attempts in vein.

My faith rests on these two things: believing the historical resurrection of Jesus and my personal experience of God's limitless power.
Elevated Foundations
I feel we don't leave dark stains Only light ones Filled with light we are Done and moved on into Our lives bound broken both Upon the sea upon The battlefield we Are broken and drip Gleaming blood bright White soak into the cotton curls So neatly bound and thrown Down to cover our Elevated foundations

For Now I Am Winter
Lingering season clutching its last days Brings fist of sun, last ditch warmth to my bones Before the fall of all things run Down my leg, drops of blood Morphing shifting earth in season wild Newness, mirth and flying fowl Cold glass, warm hands, icy toes Warm fires and candles glow Chilled to the bone fresh Flesh on frigid tile Ice skating in socks and smile Concurrent connection family all For now I am Winter Bite and sharp, waking wide The worn man and woman are Crisp and tinder for the fire Laying slumberful the short days count I am coming

Paraphrase of Shelley: "we learn morality from literature, but not from literature that endeavors to teach morality."
90's sitcoms and saturday morning specials can suck it :P
Cooper was lost. He had never been to San Jose before and having driven up from LA earlier that morning found himself lost in the winding streets that reminded him of a plate of spaghetti. He had come to see his uncle who was dying. Cancer. That much he knew. What type or how bad or how long, he had no clue. He just knew the uncle that had actually given a rat’s ass about him in his youth was now dying alone. The five-hour drive had given Cooper plenty of time to think. Plenty of time to remember the good times he had with Uncle Dan. Like the time Cooper got in a fist fight with his best friend over a girl. Or the time he passed out drunk at a friends house and had his car stolen. Or when Uncle Dan would take him camping for the Fourth of July and taught him manly things like fire building, bar-b-queuing and sleeping under the stars without fear of animals. Without fear. That was what Uncle Dan had taught him. How to live without fear.

He drove home and fell into bed as the horizon began to hide the stars
From my new short story. Editing now. Posting soon.
Oh, beware, my lord, of jealousy. It is the green-eyed monster, which doth mock the meat it feeds on.

Every time I see/hear a Jewish woman I think "I'll bet that's what Jesus mother (aka, the virgin Mary) was like."
House Stained Hot
House stained hot from Summer’s days Week nearly now with no ease Rain threatened and came But could not wash it away Seeking redemption on the porch Quiet quenches a month’s pangs yet Independence declarations are Impertinent to the silence of my hours The cool is faint and reaches not the house Too stuck up stuffed up In the thrum of laundry drying And the tepid air that stalked the hot rain
Just got the full version which includes multiplayer. Anyone else have it and down for a match?
I love how listening to the Tron soundtrack while working makes even sending an email an epic event.
