If youâre anything like me, you have a love-hate relationship with the Christian music industry. I love music, and music that expresses and connects with my walk and faith with Jesus plays a big part in my life. But so much of the Christian music industry isnât good! Itâs cheap. Formulaic. Shallow. Cliche.
So it is a rare thing for me to find an artist who is both musically talented, and their lyrics are deep.
This album by Luke Bower really resonated with me and I hope it does for you too. It is in that genre of Americana Country. Similar to Willie Nelson, or more recently The Lumineers. If you give it a listen, Iâd love to hear your thoughts. ïżŒ
Today is Holy Saturday. We sit in the in-between. Itâs the most overlooked day of the Church calendar â and yet, it might be the one that speaks most clearly to the Christian life. Itâs the day when heaven was quiet, when the promises seemed stalled, and when hope looked buried in the ground.
The day of silence. The ache of waiting. I know you know this space well. It can feel like the soil is quiet. But God is not idle.
Holy Saturday reminds us that delay is not defeat. God does His most redemptive work in the waiting.
There are seasons in life when you feel like youâre living between Good Friday and Easter Sundayâwhen the resurrection hasnât yet broken through, when prayers feel unanswered, and fruit is slow. But the silence of Saturday is not the end of the story.
âWait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courageâ (Ps. 27:14). Why? Because the God who appeared absent is still present. And His plan is not failingâit is unfolding.
We live in the tension of the already and the not yet. In your waiting you are not alone. And Sunday is still coming.
Hereâs a recent prayer letter from my friend who runs a prison ministry in St Louis:
Dear Family,
Did I get the job at InsideOUT because I am Black? Am I a DEI hire? I sure hope so. Let me explain.
Big word alert. Our ONTOLOGY encompasses all aspects of our being. Me being a man matters to God. Me being from the family and from the particular environment I am from matters to God. Me being what is classified in the USA as Black matters to God. Me being a husband and father, and the other roles I have all matter to God. After all, He sovereignty chose and ordained each and every one of those aspects, so God has to care about and LOVE me being a Black man because THAT is how He CREATED me!
Diversity, when defined in the Holy Bible, means difference. God created difference. This means that diversity was always Godâs plan. Adam and Eve were real people in history. God placed within them the genetic code to produce every skin color, height, eye color and ethnicity. You and I love Jesus. We profess to agree with God. I pray we are careful to not allow politics or people who donât use the whole of the Bible to inform their ideas. God is not colorblind, and He does not ignore how He has made us different. He LOVES what He has created! He celebrates the different ways He has made us! Let us agree with God!
The work is righteous but the road is hard toâŠ
ReHUMANIZE People to Society AND RECONCILE People to Jesus Christ! Jesus ALWAYS WINS!

This book has been very helpful in getting clarity on what it means to be an intercultural church:

Matt got the opportunity to preach at a church in Central London, called Mosaic Church. The passage is Genesis 26.
This is what God has been saying for thousands of years:

The main difference between multicultural and intercultural churches is their approach to cultural diversity
Speaking of church culture:
âwhat we DO communicates, reinforces, and shapes who we are, often far more than what we teach.â

Wouldnât it be great if the Church could be totally transformed? If it could, how would that be possible. Historically, when the Church expe
