“are you really sorry? or are you just gonna tell me all the sweet little bullshit you always do until the next time?” venomous, but it’s all she knows as she begins pulling the dish out of his reach. she’s never had the guidance to control the emotions that seem to bubble out between snaps towards him. it’s only when he guides her gaze back towards him that she feels even the slightest bit of calm. there’s something about him that brings out not only rage in her, but also manages to bring her peace despite the want to deepen the argument. “i only get a smart ass mouth when you don’t communicate, so if you’re actually gonna fix that then maybe we can have one nice meal together.” she knows the latter of her statement is untrue. sarcasm is a second language to her, but her pride keeps her from admitting her own wrongs.
“aight! aight!” ryker hissed as he released her chin and moved away from her-- refusing to admit that he HATED the chill it sent between the two of them. he didn’t like all this fussing and fighting they did. it would be better for him if they could just... chill. hang out, watch some tv, eat some food, then they could GO AT IT in a better way and sleep. he wished she’d just understand where he was coming from and what he had to do. “i call you a BITCH cause you act like one.” that certainly wasn’t the ‘i’m sorry’ his mind had decided was the best next course of action. NOPE, what rolled from his tongue was once again the same old slur in her direction. he flinched on instinct, already picturing whatever was going to COME FLYING at him.

“edith-- edith-- they were on the PORCH!” lenny’s eyes were ABLAZE as she recounted this scandalous piece of information. “at least at first. then they were in the yard, then back in the apartment. EVERYONE knows their business.” at the mention of the other spending the night, lenny nodded. she hadn’t had a sleepover since she was a little girl, so a part of her would actually LOVE that. otherwise, of course... she’d play it off like a big joke. “sure, come on over. bring popcorn and we can paint each other’s nails, too.”

Cristina placed her hands on her hips, pretending to contemplate even though she had no real choice in the matter, it was already made for her. “Please. That’d make it really easy on me,” she said softly, running her hand over the side of the car one more time. “I have another car,” she added after a moment. “But it’s, you know, vintage, or whatever. I’m not even sure if it would start…” It was still in good condition on the outside, but under the hood, Cristina was as good as lost.

“okay, FINE-- i might get a small... fee? for bringing the car in? i can bring the money to you if you want.” her eyes were practically PLEADING. i need this more than you do.

At the mention of Nate and Maddy, she stiffened a little.She had sought to avoid the topic for a while now, but there it was staring herin the face. “I don’t really know,” Cassie said. “Maddy’s doing all right, butI couldn’t care less about Nate. Cassie tried to imagine what a surrealist person would look like, but the only images she could see were Dali’s melting watches and his Madonna without a stomach. “So have you shown them anywhere or do you just make them for yourself?” she asked.
“well, i’m TRYING to get hooked up with a dealer who can sell my paintings.” layla admitted, beaming with pride as she spoke. “an-- art dealer. probably about as reputable as the other dealers around here, but if i get money, who cares, right?” she was just rambling at this point, honestly. “...anyway, how are you? how’s... uh... nick? and... manny, right? nick and manny?”

there’s nothing the brunette hates more than being told to relax, especially when she felt justified in being angry in the first place. she manages to keep what little composure she has until the utterance of the the only thing that she could elevate the irritation she already feels. “oh so i’m just your bitch, now? that’s all i am to you?” she breaks the glare she holds and looks down towards the plates before she stands to start clearing the table. “i’d be happier to see you when you say you’re gonna be here, or at least let me know you’re gonna be late as fuck so i’m not staring at the door like some sad little puppy. but i mean, i am just your bitch so..” words are forced out through clenched teeth and if she didn’t have such a small grip she might have broken the plates that were in her hands. “when you can respect me, you can have whatever the fuck this is that we got going on. until then, find some other hyna to play house with because i’m done.”

AGAIN. every day with this shit. it never ended with her, did it? “can’t we have ONE nice meal, mari? i’m sorry i was late, okay?” ryker tried, knowing he was essentially talking to himself at this point. once you wound her up, there was no stopping the outcome, he knew that. “you’re not just-- that’s all HE sees you as. christof don’t give a fuck about NONE of us, babe. you know you’re more than that.” he reached to try and take a plate from her hand as he continued speaking. “if you weren’t my girl, you think i’d put up with this attitude?” he used his free hand to gently tilt her chin up and look in her eyes. “you got a smart ass mouth and i’m still here. gotta be a reason.”

It was reasons like this that Cristina didn’t usually drive herself. She always had a way of breaking things like this. It was like some kind of rich person’s curse. “Damn…” she murmured, rubbing her hands together. “Well…now what?” She asked Lenny gently. “What do I…do with it?”
“well, you MIGHT be able to get a good trade-in, but...” lenny shrugged. at this point it was best to just scrap the whole thing and she hated saying it. “i’d say just take it to the scrap yard. need me to handle it?” she offered. the guys at the junk KNEW lenny... and they’d throw her a couple bucks for a shell this nice... not that cristina needed to know that.
