No extra cookies needed, Rachel. Your voice is kind of an incentive by itself. And I know what I am talking about. But as much as I am for broadening people’s horizons basically forcing them to listen to religious songs, that they most likely can’t even understand, while they want to eat in peace might just cause more of a negative response than genuine interest. Even Christmas songs annoy people these days. You should consider that.

I agree. Everyone needs something just for themselves where nobody can interfere.  Photography is your passion I take it? What’s your favorite motif? I’ll give you the short answer for now: in dressage, horse and rider perform a series of predetermined movements and sequences.  It’s considered the highest form of horse training. Don’t worry, most people don’t. I’m happy to explain.

Happy Hanukkah!

Yesterday the eight sacred days of Hanukkah began. I would’ve have made a post then, but I was far too busy preparing my personal Hanukkah present to the institute and its student body. According to Jewish tradition, gifts are exchanged with loved ones on each of the eight days of the holiday. As I’m not able to be with my dads for the season and am thus unable to carry-on our normal traditions, I’ve elected to start a new one! At lunch every day, I intend to give an impromptu performance of one of the various Hanukkah songs in my repertoire. As much as I adore the songs of the season, very few are inclusive to those that practice Judaism. I intend to not only give the gift of my refined talent, but also the gift of cultural knowledge for those that may be unaware of the great songs that are collected withing the Jewish songbook. Furthermore, I’ll follow up each performance by passing around individually wrapped sugar cookies decorated in accordance with Hanukkah’s signature colors of blue and white - the corresponding colors of the Israeli flag.

In the spirit of inclusion, I’ll also happily take requests to incorporate Christmas songs after my headlining numbers, so start thinking of songs you’d like to hear and do let me know as soon as possible so I can ensure that I have a decent background track to sing along to.

Again, Hanukkah Sameach! ✡ (Sameach is Hebrew for “Happy”).

Oh, wow! Amazing. Do you miss it? Or… well, I guess I don’t know if the school has a riding program or anything like that. Did you ride in contests and things? Like in the Olympics? 

The school doesn’t and if I wanted to visit riding establishments in the area I would have to take a Dom everytime so I indeed miss it a lot. Yes! Mostly show jumping but some dressage too. The Olympic team had been my goal but the system kind of has a way to put a damper on someone’s plans.
