gifts
As the light faded on one more winter’s day, the cold air swept around them like a wave. There was so much more to do, and so little time left to get it done. As the shops they walked past started to close their doors for the day, they rushed to the one that they needed to get to. They snuck in the front door with just a minute or two to spare, they got their hands on the one thing they knew they couldn’t miss out on that day. Some gifts are simple, some are far more complex. Some take minutes to work out, others take months. This was a complex, month-long planning adventure to acquire just the right thing for just the right person. It might not look like much to anyone on the outside, for the recipient it would be everything. We all take value in different things, we all see things differently. A £5000 handbag is someone else’s £2 keyring. Who are we to say which is more valuable in the hands of a child who has nothing else.
