He sighed softly and leaned back in his chair.  “Fine, if you must be the leader, I’ll be in charge of task division.  Emma, you and Jacob can be in charge of research and since Liz and I are the best writers, we’ll divide up the work for the report and then we’ll all work on the presentation together.”

Emma rolled her eyes. “Fine. As long as you’re not late with that. And then with the presentation, we can divide it based on the general task division. So you and Liz do the introduction and conclusion and Jacob and I will discuss the results.”

“Well that’s a little harsh.  Cut a man some slack, princess … it’s not my fault the school would rather spend funding on jocks hell bent on permanent brain damage rather than accessible parking.”  Elijah huffed as he slumpped into the seat Emma had directed him to.  “Did I miss the part where we put you in charge as well?”

"You should know that’s a problem by now, so you could easily have anticipated it and left home a little earlier,” Emma replied matter-of-factly. At his question, she exchanged glances with the other students before replying. “Yes,” she deadpanned. “I figured that was obvious. Now let’s focus on the task division so we can actually get some work done.”

It was the end of the weekend, and Isabelle had realized that she left her chores until the very last minute.  All her clothes needed to be washed, her meals needed to be prepped for the next week and her room was in dire need of being reorganized after putting it through absolute hell before the New Years Eve party … The only solution being to obviously rock out while she finished up her chores.  With her earphones plugged in and loud enough to be heard even a couple of feet away from her, she danced while folding her clothes.

Emma entered her room, stopping in the doorway as she saw her roommate dancing. “Hey,” she greeted the other with a bemused expression. Noticing that the girl didn’t respond, she moved closer and tapped her roommate on the shoulder. “Hey, what you doing?”

“Fuck!” Elijah stumbled through the door, adjusting the jacket of his vintage suit.  He was already more than a little late due to oversleeping, then struggling to find something appropriate to wear and finding that he had forgotten to do his drycleaning.  “God, campus is swarming with clueless and hungover idiots.  It was impossible to find a parking space and I had to walk from two buildings over.  What have I missed?”

A rather annoyed Emma looked up as Elijah stumbled in. A rather disinterested expression masked her usually kind face as he excused himself without actually apologizing for being late.  "Only the most important decisions we needed to make for the project. So rest assured that the topic is now nonnegotiable as we don’t have the time to rediscuss what topic we should do,” Emma replied brusquely. “Now come sit down so we can do the task division.”
