The story of my username:
Many moons ago, during my time in college, I used to used the site called 8tracks for music to study to. I found many new songs on it.
One in particular played a large hand in me coming up with the empty ballroom.
I found a playlist with this photo as the cover art.
Several of the tracks on that playlist were by the caretaker (The one that stuck with me the most was "all you're going to want to do is get back there"). It was a haunting ambient playlist that I'm sad to say I have been unable to listen to again as the creator deleted it years ago, but I imagined this playlist playing in an empty (and likely haunted) old ballroom.
