It’s been years since I had a blog.

Once upon a time (circa 2009) I had a kink and tickling blog on tumblr. I’ve since abandoned it and have changed handles to maintain anonymity (if you recognize me from back then, no you don’t. 😅) so I figured I would start new. On that previous blog spent a lot of time reblogging things that made my spine tingle and it looks like not much has changed.

I recently decided to try and make some tickling and foot content. Any of my original content will be tagged as such.

365 Days…

I got a little party hat notification today telling me it’s been a year since I came back to Tumblr. I knew it was coming and had even contemplated whether I wanted to do something special for it but truth be told, I’ve been suffering from creative block for months. I’m in a mental place where every picture I take, everything I write, and every concept I muse upon is falling flat for me and I don’t know how long it will be before I’ll be in that playful, creative space again.

I really didn’t want to come back here until I had some sort of content to offer aside from the aimless, addled rambling of a displaced knismo but here we are.

I don’t know if this means I’m back but for those wondering (if any), I’m alive and relatively well. I’m just determining where this current iteration of me fits into the community (something that’s been on my mind as of late) and trying to regain the playfulness that feels out of reach right now. Maybe once I do both of those things my creativity will come back too. 😅

Anyway, I’m not sure what my capacity for interaction will be over the next while, but cheers to one year back in the community I’d been removed from for a decade.

Tickle Mimic

A monster concept:

Anyone who knows anything about fantasy settings, especially DND, knows about mimics. They're monsters disguised as seemingly harmless objects that lie in wait for an unsuspecting victim to interact with them. Probably the most classic, well-known example is the mimic disguised as a treasure chest that tries to eat you if you open it.

So picture this: You're exploring a remote dungeon with a small party, and you find a chest. You rush ahead to open it, and (you guessed it!) it's a mimic. You're promptly grabbed and pulled inside, the lid closing shut behind you. The rest of your party doesn't even have time to react. They also surmise that this mimic is definitely too tough to try fighting it, so they take a moment to mourn your tragic death before continuing on their way.

What they don't realize is, you're not dead. Turns out, this is a very rare mimic that does not digest its victims. Its "stomach" is lined with countless tendrils that mercilessly tickle you for as long as you remain inside of it, adapting very quickly to your particular ticklish spots.

They also don't know that it's a relatively weak monster when it's full. They could have gotten you out very easily, but why would they think to try? They can't hear your screams of laughter from inside the chest, and they're very sure that they just witnessed you being eaten. Why would they try to rescue someone they have no reason to think might still be alive?

So they leave, shocked and saddened by your untimely demise; and in doing so, they accidentally doom you to an entirely different, but perhaps just as terrible, fate. Hope you can handle this tickling hell until more adventurers happen to pass by this particular (slightly hidden) room in this particular dungeon!

Specifically music theory. And I love to teach. I’ve been thinking, it would be SO much fun to teach a ticklee how to play and understand music.

Imagine:

You’re sitting at the piano. I ask you to play G Dorian. My hands are resting on your sides. Nervously, you begin to play up the scale.

G, A, Bb, C D… Eb!

G Dorian has an E Natural, how many times do I have to tell you?! The MOMENT that Eb rings out, my resting hands are no longer resting. They’re playing you like a keyboard, with expert precision, and your laughter is music.

Wrong notes tickle!!

Later, we’re about to have some more specifically ticklish fun. You’re immobile, your ticklish spots are exposed. It’s about to start, and you’re already giggling. Then:

“What’s the vi chord in F# Major?”

Uh oh!

Before you have a chance to answer, the tickles have consumed you.

“C'mon, we just went over this today! Don’t tell me you’ve forgotten!”

Your laughter continues.

You try to curse me out, but you’re laughing too hard.

You close your eyes and begin to think. After 30 seconds you haven’t answered, so I give you a few warning squeezes and remind you that “We haven’t got all night!”

The squeezes jolt you from your concentration, and you sputter “D-Db Minor! Db MINOR!”

“Come on now! You know that F# Major has a D#!” I say, with a devious smile. “Besides, keys with flats don’t have sharps! Have you been paying any attention at all??”

“WAIT, NO!” You say with a big grin on your face, “D# MINOR! I MEANT D# MINOR!” You brace yourself. But instead of the sudden tickling you were expecting, you hear my voice.

“If THIS is any indication of how much of today’s lesson you absorbed, I’m afraid you’re in… treble” I smirk.

Your mouth curls into a grin, you’re clearly a little embarrassed to be smiling at such a stupid joke. You try to roll your eyes and groan, but you’re suddenly being tickled again, which is much more embarrassing.

But this whole method seems to have the opposite effect than I’d intended. As the night goes on, your answers become more and more blatantly incorrect. It’s almost as if you’re enjoying this… Hmmm….

“Okay, fine” I say, “What’s the I chord in Bb Major?” I say, challenging you to get this one wrong. The I chord in Bb Major is, of course, Bb Major. With a defiant smirk, you look me in the eyes and say “E# Minor!” We hold eye contact and both of us smile.

And then you laugh some more, of course!

As a music nerd myself, I started reading this my first thought was “what a fun way to get back on my music theory!!” (I’m blessed with a great ear, but that meant that as a kid I had no interest in theory I just wanted to make noise). Then as I got further into the story I was like:

“You know what? Yeah. That checks out.”

I wouldn’t learn shit but you best believe I would be there for my lessons at least three times per week!
