The Paracas Candelabra (also called the Candelabra of the Andes) is a prehistoric geoglyph found on the northern face of the Paracas Peninsula at Pisco Bay in Peru. The design, which may date back as far as 200 BCE, is cut two feet (0.6 m) into the soil and has stones placed around it. The figure is 595 feet (181 m) tall — large enough to be seen 12 miles (19.3 km) at sea.

A network of vacant roads criss-crosses through California City, California. Incorporated in 1965, the city was originally designed to rival Los Angeles in size but fell far short of expectations, leaving behind a vast grid of crumbling paved roads. Though it is the third-largest city in California by area, at 203 square miles (527 square km), it is home to only about 14,200 people.
