Jaelyn quickly covers her face with his oversized sleeves on her small arms, hiding her ever-so-red face before looking up at him. “U-Um, well all performers get nervous in general.” She begins as she locks eyes with him once more. “In fact, I get even more nervous in front of my own family and they have seen me perform countless of times. I actually invited them to come to the second concert because I’m too nervous. But with you, I’m not as nervous.” She chuckles. “If anything, whenever I have played or perform in front of you, I feel more at ease.” Jaelyn hums. When she hears his last statement, she could feel her lips rise. “I’m really happy to hear that. I’m looking forward to seeing you there.” She says as smiles happily at him. “I really can’t wait for you to see the concert. I’ve been working hard and long preparing for it. I’m just excited, in general.” She feels herself sigh in relief, not really aware she was holding her breath. “Ah! It’s a surprise but there is a particular song that I’m performing that I think you’ll particularly enjoy.” She hesitantly reaches back out to him, taking his hand in hers, missing his warmth.
That was a common human condition, yet one that many forgot was natural al too often. Nerves were good. Nerves kept humans alert, the blood rushing through veins ever faster, activating an instinct to fight or fly. Such thought processes were understood as logic to Sewon when he was younger. He’d adopted much of human behaviour now, however. The spark of nerves can be felt on his skin now. This he cannot understand. “Then having me there will make it easier for you to perform,” he summarised succinctly, “That is worth it.” He studied her again. So much he could not figure out. “Seeing you sing is more important to me.” Her hand crept along to his again. Sewon did not watch it. He felt it and felt his fingers find hers again not too long after. Instinct. Human instinct. He raised a brow at her admission. “I won’t ask you to tell me the song. That would spoil the surprise. Yet I have to ask… why would I enjoy it?” He tilted his head, moved a little closer to her. “Why me?”
With a small smile, she couldn't help but feel a warm rush overcome her as she listens to him speak. She looks down, looking at their hands, lightly tracing over his fingers. "Why you..?" She says timidly, pursing her lips in thought. "Well... I thought of you while I was writing it..." She begins. "I really don't want to ruin the surprise. I feel like I'll end up spoiling it more if I keep talking about it. When it comes, you'll just know." She looks up at with him a smile before lacing her fingers with his and slowing pulling him to follow her. "You know... I do have a wish.." She says as she takes small steps backwards. "I wish.. That, one day I would have the opportunity to perform with you. It would be nice to share a stage, instead of your classroom whenever we have free time." She chuckles before she brings them to a bench and sits them down. “Is it okay if I sing something?” She turns to look back at him. “Don’t worry, it’s not the song I was speaking of earlier. This is a different song.”
