What a time to read Atmosphere! This book follows Joan Goodwin as she navigates joining NASA's space shuttle program in the 80s to be among the first women to go to space while forming unlikely friendships and a love she never imagined. I went in expecting a space read and came away with so much more!

BOOK REVIEW:

Atmosphere is a love story balanced with a journey through space, effecitvely layering technical aspects with emotional points. The dual timelines between a present life-or-death situation and the past that led to this point really added to building the suspense and backstory, making for a gripping read. This book hits so many important topics between women in STEM, LGBTQ+ romance especially in the time period this is set in, familial ties, and more. The self-discovery of the main character as well as character development overall was really well done, making the connections more engaging and has you invested in the characters. If you're looking for an emotional read with a space backdrop, definitely pick this book up!
