these are the last words of a few of many black victims.
(i came across a list of these on social media and it really affected me so i wanted to channel my emotions into art to spread that impact on others. if i got any quotes or names wrong i apologize)
supporting one group does not invalidate the struggles of others. if you truly think “all lives matter” then you should support black lives matter. if you’re asking yourself “well what does this do for me?” then a more important question you should be asking yourself is why should you expect compensation for supporting the lives of those in need? i’ll say it again, supporting one group does not invalidate the struggles of others. if we can come together and fight the systemic racism against our black brothers and sisters we can take a step forward in society and make changes that will benefit all. if we dilute our focus to just our own problems, nothing will change.
donate, sign petitions, and call/text numbers. if you can’t donate on your own, look up youtube videos that are donating their ad revenue. reblog with verified sources, share the word on social media but make sure you’re not just parroting others. do your own research and most importantly, do something.
hear these voices and don’t let more last words join this list.
