Btw for those of you who might not have heard about it, we're having a George Floyd situation in Italy.

A (legal) immigrant died¹ while being held down on the ground by a cop who was arresting him, in Bologna.

However it looks like instead of getting revolts and anti-police sentiment, the public opinion seems to be on the cop's side. No massive protests², no black lives matter equivalents here.

His name was Abderrahim Fakir, look up his story if you want to learn more. Honestly I don't even have the energy to read the news, so sorry if I got any details wrong. Don't just trust random people on tumblr in general, actually.

1: I'm not using the word "killed" because technically they're still investigating whether his death was caused by the police officer, but it sure sounds convenient that he allegedly had a completely unrelated condition that just happened to kill him as he was being arrested.

2: edit: I have since learned that there have been some protests, actually. However my point still stands, the majority of the population seems to be on the side of the cops

So, a red-state DA blows the whistle on why cops are so bad at their jobs, and the DA is under fire for it. Sick.

To put my two cents into the tragic death of Nolan Wells, I'm glad people are protesting. This deserves to garner just as much attention as George Floyd

Because why the hell would any teenager, better yet a black teenager, who cannot fully swim, give his "friends" his phone (which was allegedly openable via face scan) and then chose to stay behind on an unstaffed island in the wilderness overnight, without any camping equipment.
