This Spones katra-sharing detail: In this moment, when they have just stolen the Enterprise and are newly out of danger (as Scotty is saying, "The more they overthink the plumbing, the easier it is to stop up the drain!") McCoy is standing there, to the right (our left) of the Captain's chair, in Spock's usual spot. He's looking a little twitchy and confused for a moment, and then he raises his eyebrow.

McCoy raises his brow often, but it usually looks like this: the whole left brow, high and rounded, a fluid movement, accompanied by the other brow raising and lowering next to it.

It's a very subtle difference, but this time it's different.

The movement is sharper. Quicker. Just the outer edge of the brow. The other brow tucks in instead of raising. That's not a McCoy brow movement. But do you know who does raise his eyebrow like that?

(It reminds me of this post about why McCoy is standing on that side of the Captain's chair; how he is keeping Spock's spot warm, showing Spock's spirit deference by carrying him to a place where he cannot stand.)
