Biography
The Frankenstein family historically acted as the barons and baronesses of Darkmoor village from their seat in Frankenstein Manor. The German nobiliary particle "Von" is infrequently used in the names of members of this family. Frankenstein Manor holds the Frankenstein family crypt, and access to a series of catacombs below Darkmoor used by the town's vampires, known as the "Frankenstein Catacombs". The Frankenstein family credo is "Mortui vivos docent", a Latin phrase which means "The dead teach the living", and which was used to justify vivisections. The Frankenstein family crest is a heraldic shield with the Grim Reaper looming overtop, and the symbol of a caduceus (an Ancient Greek symbol of medicine) electrified at both ends.
Dr. Victoria Frankenstein is the apparent daughter of Gregory Frankenstein and his partner Christine Wollstone. From this bloodline, Victoria is the great great granddaughter of the infamous Doctor Victor Henry Frankenstein who created a monster from human remains. Christine is identified as having died in the 1990s. Gregory appeared to have had another wife named Charity King, whom Victoria may have had a sour relationship with. Victoria's father Gregory died in 2002, while Charity died in 2012.
From Frankenstein Manor in the village of Darkmoor, Victoria aimed to recreate her great great grandfather's creation, studying and revising Henry's old notes. She was assisted in this by her grave-robbing assistant Ygor, and having the remains of Henry's original creation under study and on display. In Frankenstein Manor, Victoria pasted an image of herself onto the Frankenstein family tree over their crest, and may have etched off the likeness of other kinsmen with whom she had conflict.
From her castle, Victoria and her followers captured and studied various monsters. Victoria oversaw an expedition through the woods on her mission to gain the cooperation of the Wolf Man, Larry Talbot, though he attacked various members of the party out of fear. She also did this for the Gill-Man, though seemingly not within the Black Lagoon of the Amazon itself. Another expedition she is known to have oversaw was confronting one of the Brides of Dracula through a graveyard and in a stone building. Two of Dracula's other brides were likewise confronted and took up residence in her home, as subjects of her research and representatives of Adiposte. As reward for her work, she was offered a membership in the Royal Court of Dracula, as her ancestor before her.
