*staring at a wall* Gothic1R chapter 4 spoilers.... But this time I am disappointed...

I thought that maybe Saturas and Corristo were made uncool with the intention of making Xardas look more majestic by comparison, but the writer simply has no idea how, or doesn't want to write any character type outside of The Snarky Guy. The way Xardas' demon and he are written is.... This writing is mocking the original.... It's mocking everything I like in the original.... The pathos is gone..... The theatre is gone... The reveal is all over the place... He's saying one thing and then the exact opposite thing within two minutes of dialogue (hello, ArcaniA).... Even the voice actor can't make it sound melodious anymore. There is no mystery, no dignity in the new Xardas... He's just some vulgar old man.... I'm heartbroken....

His voice is still beautiful... I especially like the lines outside cinematics like, ‘I will let it go this time. And ONLY this time,’ he accents it just like the old Xardas. And I really like the new tower. The potted plants are *chef's kiss* Mwah! Predator plants for Xardas when the main character is associated with bugs? Beautiful image. And I still think the gameplay is just so good, and I love the new, beautiful mages' robes. The golems are great. But I wish I could hang the writer upside down to get some blood in his head and make him understand that not everything is meant to be an Avengers movie....

Actually, on that note, I would like to say that I'm really enjoying the Remake. The game is awesome, love the fighting (default difficulty with auto sequence off), the music, it's so, so fun to explore the map (both the old and the new parts!!). The new PL translation brought it closer to G2 than G1(which is not my thing but I'll live) and still a bit buggy but I believe in the power of patches. I haven't even seen Xardas yet because I keep getting distracted which is a good thing becauuuse I don't feel like I have to run through the story to have it over with. Yippie I feel 10 years old again

I like that Megumi is a character with dignity, with integrity, with self-control...... Megumi has so much sincerity in him, in his actions.... that it just becomes so depressing to sum it up with, 'What an idiot!' What a suck-up!'. Joshua is in position of power over Megumi and I like that, and I like Joshua being cold and distant or outward cruel to Megumi but It's important to me that I don't add to this idea that Joshua thinks of Megumi as someone who has only the most superficial understanding of him.... Because Megumi's theme as a character, is Love. To decide, 'Megumi has no idea what Joshua or Shibuya is about' is to make a mockery of effort made in the name of love.... Does it make sense to anyone.......
