Was expecting to just head to the mandatory gala work tomorrow, and was completely unaware my boss actually expected us to still come in to the office......

The emails literally said the club was closed. I checked with HR, and she was like 🤷‍♂️ I'm not fucking coming in, I'm sleeping in, relaxing, and headed to the gala.

If id have just left 5 min earlier, my boss wouldn't have caught me in time to say "you can come in a little later than your usual time, of course, it's gonna be a slightly longer day."

Slightly longer?? It's a whole extra work day. Literally, NONE of the other departments are coming in before our required time, why tf does finance have to?

So of course I was fuming, and stayed quiet angry all afternoon 😒

I know that non-profits need to schmooze and network and throw parties to get funding, I just didn't expect that to be part of MY job. Especially since it wasn't in the job description.

As much as my boss believes in me, I am not a social butterfly, especially around old people.

But I guess I'll be at Gillette stadium later this week grinding my teeth with anxiety and stressing about my flight the day after 🙃🔫
