Had a dream last night where I got into an argument over whether the five Star Bosses called the Big Boss “Cassiopeia” and I’m still highly adamant that they DID.
It would be a dumb move on her part to name the five squads after Cassiopeia if she didn’t use that name at some point.
She simply reuses that name in Starfall because she’s comfortable with it and it’s also a lot easier to reuse an old name than make up a whole new one.
The bosses say “Goodbye, Cassiopeia and hello, Penny!” at the end of Starfall. They wouldn’t have done that if they didn’t already have an emotional connection to that name.
Take THAT, people that argued with me in my dreams.
Edit: also, less importantly, Penny’s dialogue box in the flashback cutscene after her fight says Cassiopeia when she talks to the bosses.
Also she says "I'm the Big Boss of Team Star. The name is Cassiopeia... no... Penny!" implying "Cassiopeia" was the boss of Team Star.
