     “A heart of stone?” Ramsay sips his own wine, his eyes sharp and glittering over his glass. “That would imply I have one at all.” Tenderness and kindness certainly weren’t what had him sharing an evening of drink and conversation with his prisoner, but his rampant craving for the unexpected. “My lord father might disagree with you there,” he drawls, the smile only growing wider on his lips. “Everything in the Dreadfort belongs to him, thoughts included.” 

     A few more sips, and he sets his glass back down. “What would you do with me? If our positions were exchanged?”

                         thoughts being owned. that’s something extraordinary. and utterly impossible. you can break a man. you can cut him and flay him and bash his head against the stone wall of a castle, but there’s nothing that can rob a man of his innermost thoughts. they may be pushed far down for the sake of sanity or even to preserve some sense of dignity. “ thoughts are intangible. they cannot be owned, though they can be... repressed. ” psychological manipulation, however, is an entirely separate matter.                         “ what would i do? ...perhaps, we’d be in this same position. however, you’d certainly have a functioning finger. instead we’d be in the warmth of the south, and i might leave you locked in a room while i stroll about the vineyard. surely my brother, ares, might have more ideas in mind. ”

                what business does a GOD have with a mortal? maybe it has something to do with how desperate dio is for affection. how he feels almost touch-starved. how he craves that intimacy both physically and emotionally. it explains why he nearly clings to the man’s form.                “ d’you still like me? ”

𝐑𝐀𝐌𝐒𝐀𝐘.

     “That seems only wise.” A flicker of amusement in those strange pale blue eyes, a little cant of his head as Ramsay acknowledged his captive. “Though I suppose if you are, in fact, a prisoner, you’ve a right to nothing.” He lifted his glass–Dornish red, and hard to come by in the North–to his lips, his gaze dropping only momentarily to the bandaged finger of his companion. He specialized in those unpleasant twists.

     “I can assure you it’s not poisoned.” Ramsay only would use poison when going undetected was absolutely necessary. He laughed, eyes widening with feigned indignance. “You wound me with your suspicion.” A smile, intent and glittering. “Or is it something else you expected?”

                         “ i’ve a right to my own thoughts. ” he responds with simple ease, observing the wine with intent. but fingers reach out, taking his own goblet with some air of normalcy. it was perhaps the only thing he has been familiar with — a prisoner of the north where he’d always been a proud, luxurious lord of the south. lost in his vineyards of the reach — he left such battles to his siblings. yet he found himself unprotected, and the bolton BASTARD took advantage. why were they so far south? “ wound you? i’m afraid i didn’t believe my OPINION would be taken so seriously by my captor with a heart of stone. ” an amused, dancing smile, and he does bring the cup to his lips, tasting with a small sigh of relief. to have something NORMAL.

                        “ i believe i’ve a RIGHT to suspicion, given the circumstances. it’s not very often that a captor should take a prisoner’s wishes into account — more often than not there is some foul twist that makes it altogether unpleasant. ” not to mention it was the BOLTONS who currently held the southern lord in their grasp. some days ago he’d managed to convince ramsay from flaying his finger, but there was no telling how long that request should last.
