âKay. Iâll hit up my friend after school-but Iâll need some collateral. If you suddenly change your mind and donât want it anymore once Iâve got it, youâre not gonna get away scot free.â
âWhatever. Donât touch anything.â She pulled out a few items-a tiny vial with clear liquid, a larger, fancier vial with what looked like blood in it, there was even an eldritch-looking book whispering promises of power and glory if only he got his hands on it-one that Val flicked lightly to shut it up. A few other items were revealed as well.
âAnything interest you?â
Izzy cocked his head from side to side at the book, which had been the first to catch his eye; mainly due to the fact that it was eyeing him with the same interest, stretching tentacles invitingly towards him.Â
âKinky,â he mused, dismissing the thing because if there was one thing he hated doing, it was reading. Though the whispers were hard to ignore, so he appraised the blood, and then the less flamboyant vial with the clear liquid. And frowned.
âThatâs not Jesus Juice, right? It better not be Jesus Juice,â he warned in a low voice, taking half a step back from the counter. Holy water made him twitchy, even if it was securely contained. Â
