Mass Show 003 - Carson Davis Brown
You know you're a bad man when you can:Â
use the Target photo lab to print your work.Â
use Target picture frames to install your work.
send out a Mass text to your followers to come and buy your work.Â
sell completely out of your work.
Carson Davis Brown just did that yesterday at the Target in West Hollywood on a Saturday afternoon. I was there and now I'm a proud owner of 2 CDB original prints!
Got damn I'm inspired.
#100DaysofRandomObjects - Day 20
I grew up believing that if you talked about your plans before they happened that it would ultimately jinx them to not happening and unfortunately, still to this day, I believe that some times. Of course when Iâm in my right mind i know the power of speaking things into existence but for me itâs so much easier to talk about something when you know itâs already in motion.
Long story longer, I have a business partner for another venture and we have been pursuing getting a our own store for a year now exactly. Within the year weâve come close 3 separate times using 3 separate brokers but for some reason we always fell short when it came to finalizing the deal. Up until now I hadnât been very vocal about what I was doing because subconciously I didnât want to âjinxâ it from happening but we obviously see that didnât work lol. So not only am I speaking this store into existence - Iâm also taking it a step further and drawing my vision into existence. Iâll reveal the name a later date but I can assure you that WHEN this store happens, itâs going to be legendary.
#100DaysofRandomObjects - Day 19
Iâm not gonna lie, Iâve either been under a rock or simply didnât care about any of the news regarding the #applewatch because I had no idea that it released today. Since I donât foresee myself getting one anytime soon - I figured Iâd draw it instead.Â
#100DaysofRandomObjects - Day 18
I got home late tonight. I had to finish up another project first - as a result I freestyled this illustration with the last bit of energy I had left. Surprisingly it took longer than expected. I think it came out pretty cool though.
#100DaysofRandomObjects - Day 17
A cup of coffee. My morning ritual...because without it, my chances of getting a headache is extremely high.

#100DaysofRandomObjects - Day 16
Just left my boy Theophilus Martins' debut LA show at The Sayers Club - so glad this city finally got a chance to experience his talent musically - especially since he's shared some of his other talents with us.
To sum it all up, I came home inspired and took a stab at creating my own (slightly abstract) version of the cover art from his most recent project, "Doing It For Television".
#100DaysofRandomObjects - Day 15
Whenever I need a lilâ inspiration I can always find it at my favorite bookstore, Skylight Books. They do an awesome job curating their inventory - literally every time Iâm there, I discover a new indie magazine or a new zine. Thereâs so many people creating great things out there and I just want to contribute to the list. Iâm feeling really inspired.Â
Since one of my goals for 2015 is to create a zine  - I figure in the same vein as yesterdayâs illustration, if I draw my own, itâs the first step to me making it happen. Though I donât quite have a title yet, I do know for sure that I want the cover to be yellow.
#100DaysofRandomObjects - Day 14
Once upon a time - about 5 years ago when I use to dress like AndrĂ© 3000, I had this one fedora cap that I would wear all of the time. On a trip to Chicago I foolishly packed it in my suitcase and actually expected it to keep its form - it definitely didn't, and I eventually got rid of it. I havenât found one to replace it since.
Though yesterday I came really close to buying a new one but I didnât like the option (or lack there of). I figure if I draw my own - that could be the first push to me making my own. I also drew a hat box as well since I obviously didnât have one then.

Glen Craig - Day in the Life of Miles Davis
I was unaware until today that this month is the "Month of Photography" in Los Angeles.
With that being said, earlier today I had the opportunity to check out Glen Craig's "Day in the Life of Miles Davis" photo exhibition at the Leica Store and only one word comes to mind when describing it - AMAZING!
If you're a Miles Davis fan - I highly suggest you go and check it out for yourself, these exclusive photos only add to the many reasons of why he was the man!
#100DaysofRandomObjects | Day 12
I really lost track of time watching this amazing documentary about black photographers on Netflix called âThrough a Lens Darklyâ and after it was over - I kinda fell asleep đ. Thank God I woke because I would have been so mad at myself for missing an illustration. With that being said, tonights illustration was inspired by the documentary.
"Poor Traits" by Jean Jullien at HVW8 Gallery.
Finally had the opportunity to check out Jean Jullien's "Poor Traits" exhibition at HVW8 Gallery earlier today.
If you're near the Melrose/Fairfax area this weekend - I highly suggest you make your way over there to check it out!

#100DaysofRandomObjects | Day 11
Disclaimer: This particular illustration is an exception to my #100DaysofRandomObjects project. Iâll get back to drawing ârandom objectsâ tomorrow. As for this, I was just sitting here reflecting on my journey and I figured it would be cool to interpret my thoughts in a the form of a simple illustration.
This is what I came up with. My journey epitomized.Â
#100DaysofRandomObjects | Day 10
Morning exercise. Experimenting with shapes AGAIN but Iâm not gonna lie - I drew this one solely for continuity; I just wanted to see how all 3 [my last 3 illustrations] would look together on my grid lol. I had a feeling they would all look great together.
Now I'm considering making them into prints - just because.
#100DaysofRandomObjects | Day 9
More experimentation with shapes. This time I created an imaginary boundary and the goal was to fit as much as could within the lines. Still the adding the color is always the best part.
