"The Duke of Windmere!" The harold announced as Arthur walked through the doors and into Edmund's study. He gave a curt nod to the king. Edmund had sent a note last night that simply stated how he wished to see Arthur this morning. Arthur knew what his friend would want to discuss...Eugenie. Arthur had not planned on getting married when he had left Cair Paravel a week and a half ago, stating how he was going to visit his parents in Archenland. Even Arthur could admit that events had unfolded rather quickly with his new bride, who he had returned to court with last night. But despite how sudden it all seemed, he didn't regret it, not for a moment. He could never regret Genie.
"A beautiful autumn day, isn't it, Your Grace?" He asked, strolling to the window, deciding to play dumb. If Edmund wanted to discuss his elopement, he would have to bring it up.
"It is." Edmund glanced out one of the many windows in his study, giving a nod of agreeance to Arthur as he spoke. There was no malice in his voice as she swung his feet up onto his desk - a habit that much invoked the annoyance of his brother. "Tell me... How was the family?"
He couldn't keep a smirk from gracing his features as he spoke, his eyes trained on Arthur. He only let a moment of silence linger between the pair before he spoke again.
"Listen, Arthur." Casually, he folded his hands behind his head, leaning back ever so slightly in his chair. "I don't have much room to speak. I married my wife against the advice of half of the council. If the marriage had been flat-out denied, I am certain I would find myself in a position similar to yours. Peter, though. He might have a bone to pick with you. My only quarrel is that you didn't say a word about it to me beforehand. I would have been there for you, you know. Just ask my siblings. I do have a history of being sneaky."
