Love is a funny thing to witness; it's hard to explain, but you always know when it's there. Sometimes we deny that feeling, as if it's not supposed to be there. But sometimes... It feels right. And if you find someone that's worth loving, you'll be willing to do anything to make them happy. Day 1! This Black owned business is one of my favorites! I bought a few of my Christmas gifts from them last year, and have bought a few other items throughout this past year. The founder/CEO of @hypkreationz is a black woman, and has made quite a name for herself since she started. Did you know that black women are among the fastest growing population of entrepreneurs in the country? According to Forbes Business Magazine and the Center for Women's Business Research, "Hispanic and African American women are the fastest growing entrepreneurial segments in the country growing at rates of 133.3% and 191.4% respectively from 1997 to 2007. Combined they represent more than two million of the roughly eight million women-owned businesses in the country and more than $14 billion in gross receipts. Further, African American and Hispanic women are three to five times more likely to start a business than their white counterparts." So I've been hearing quite a bit about Black Owned Businesses for a while, especially considering that the holidays are right around the corner. Mostly, I hear the phrases "I'd love to support black owned businesses, but there's not enough of them." "Black owned businesses are too expensive." "Black owned businesses don't have good customer service." So in an attempt to debunk all of those statements, I want to do what I'm calling the 25 Days of Black Owned Businesses! Each day until Christmas, I will highlight a different black owned business and try my best to provide some facts about them that some of us may not know. Each of these businesses I have either (1) done business with them myself, (2) am planning on doing business with them, or (3) been referred by a friend. I have a list of a wide range of businesses that sell clothes, electronics, shoes, perfume/cologne, and so much more. I hope you all will join me in celebrating black owned businesses this holiday season, and will show your support to them during the holidays, and CONTINUE to show your support to them in the future! #25DaysOfBlackOwnedBusinesses #25DoBOB

A week ago today, I finally crossed the stage to join the ranks of a Morehouse Alumnus! I've followed the footsteps of over 17,000 that have come before me, and as I celebrate my own accomplishments, I also look forward to seeing the accomplishments of those that I've had the pleasure of meeting while there.
