Maaaakin' veggie chips, yeah.
Went and joined #sketchbite.
Made teh yummy salad for lunches. Radishes (root and leaves), broccoli, celery, arugula, chard, spinach, kale, pumpkin seeds, Blue cheese, & balsamic dressing. There was sandwich too but that was already inhaled.
Artist questions 1. Mostly self taught. When I was 16 I took that Art Instruction School test that they advertised on TV. The one where you are take a test and mail it in. I was accepted and lasted for 3 sessions before dropping out because it was too expensive. 2. I'm okay. Pretty mediocre really. 3. Since very early childhood, I remember drawing trees in shaving creme a while in preschool. 4. The time it takes and how others treat it like it's not a real job. 5. Comics, eyes, women, hair. 6. 35, I'll be 36 at the end of this month. 7. Mostly traditional. I only resort to digital if I have too. 8. Oh yes. 9. So many. Gail Simone, Hayao Miyazaki, Rumiko Takahashi, Bill Watterson, and ancient statuary from India...just to name a few.
Someone has no chill, damn
Being suicidal doesn't necessarily mean you're holding a gun to your head.
Sometimes, it means smoking a cigarette in the hopes that you’ll get cancer and die. Or jaywalking across the street without looking, because you don’t care if you get hit by a car. Sometimes it means having sex with a stranger, hoping you’ll get an STD and die. Or not sleeping and not eating in the hopes that the exhaustion will kill you. Or even not washing your hands in the hopes that you’ll get sick and die. Sometimes it means being cruel to the people you love or ignoring them, because if they leave you’ll have less reason to go on living. Or not setting your alarm for work, so you’ll get fired and have less of a purpose. Sometimes it means partying hard in the hopes that your liver will fail and you’ll die. Or putting yourself in dangerous and potentially painful situations, so maybe it’ll be the last straw. Being suicidal doesn’t necessarily mean trying to die. A lot of times, it means not putting any effort into living.
Yay!
Every time I see things like this I face-palm so hard. She didn't "destroy" feminism. She just trotted out arguments that have already been shoved at feminism forever and just go to show her, and others, misunderstanding of what feminism is. She claims that "Feminism is not a synonym for equality" and she's right...to a point. It's not a synonym for equality, it's a facet of it. Its taken from the outcry from feminists when they are faced with the argument that feminism is a movement to bring about superiority of women over men. "But feminism is about equality" they cry and their opponents simplify this response to mean that feminism is about equality for all. As I stated earlier, feminism is a facet of equality. If you think of the fight for equality as a tree the first large branches that split off from the trunk are centered on more pinpointed issues: race, gender, sexuality, disabilities, wealth, and etc. And then each of those branches split into even more pinpointed areas...in the case of gender it would men's rights, feminism, gender-nonconforming, and etc. Even inside feminism you can even pinpoint further into cis-feminism and trans-feminism. And like a tree, while these branches are separate things they also weave about each other and touch. This is called intersectionality. Things like this video are ridiculous and misguided. To say that feminists, as a whole, do not care about the issues she brings up is a bold face lie.
Seems we get giant cards when your 10 yr anniversary here at work. Also, damn...10 years...
Actually cooked tonight. Tomato pepper braised fish, honeyed curry rice, and spiced carrots.
Complex working on preventing further leaks in our apt...not sure how this is going to help tho.
Truth. (From http://chaoslife.findchaos.com/cold-cats)
I need to start sketching again. If I tried to sketch without pencil now it would be a sad sad mess.
Still wondering...
Seven years ago today an obsession was born.
