Join the Blizzard: Autumn!

Okay so I know it isn’t autumn yet, but due to FROST LIKE NIGHT’s earlier release date (which is actually TWO DAYS before the first day of Autumn, FATE), we’re doing the Autumn Join the Blizzard contest a wee bit differently this year.

We’re also doing it a wee bit differently because…brace yourselves…this will be the LAST regular Join the Blizzard contest!

No need to cry! This doesn’t mean there won’t be future SLA-themed contests – this merely means that those contests will be more sporadic, and might not always be on every season.

But now, since this is such an epic, unusual Join the Blizzard contest…what is going down??

The Summer Join the Blizzard contest served to get all ya’ll rallying behind your designated kingdoms. But with war LESS THAN A MONTH AWAY, it’s important to remember what we’re fighting for.

So for this contest, you will need to create something to honor your favorite aspect of the SLA trilogy: a graphic of your favorite quote, a song for your OTP, a video of your preferred city, a drawing of your favorite character, anything! Plaster your love online and put a link to it in the Rafflecopter form below. You have until September 12, when the top four will be chosen by me, announced by the War Council, and put to a public vote from September 13-19. The winner, as selected by the WHOLE WIDE WORLD, will be announced on FROST LIKE NIGHT’s release day, September 20.

And that winner will receive a complete hardcover set of the trilogy, not only signed, but ANNOTATED! That’s right – SNOW LIKE ASHES, ICE LIKE FIRE, AND FROST LIKE NIGHT, all with my mindless scribblings and mental notes and behind-the-scenes details in the margins.

Onward, Winterians! (And Cordellans, Spring, Autumnians, Yakimians…eh, you’re all honorary Winterians, right?)

My gift to Sara Raasch for her birthday. It is also the first video I’ve ever released of myself singing publicly (others have been taken without my knowledge). *get super nervous* I imagine this is how Sara feels when she releases a book. (*internal and external screaming*)

Anyways since I’m better at writing than I am at speaking: Happy Birthday Sara! I absolutely cannot wait to see where you go with your career and the many more books to come. You’re an amazing person and author so don’t let anybody change that! As Fall Out Boy would say: thanks for the memories.

This is…wow. Wow. Thank you. THANK YOU. To everyone who sent in such wonderful, heartfelt messages. To everyone who just loves this series so, so much. My heart is full and my brain is giddy and I don’t know what to say beyond…thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

The SLA series has brought some truly amazing things into my life, but you guys are definitely the best thing. I hope you know how utterly grateful I am for each and every one of you.
