"We are linked by a desire to dole out pain and suffering in equal measure, bonded by our shared bloodshed. We were just a bunch of regular kids once, but with my guidance we became something better. Alone we are weak. Together we are strong. We follow no one's rule but our own, and no one can stop us."
"We are Legion."
Welcome to my brand-new Dead by Daylight roleplay sideblog, The Legion's Den. The Legion are group of murderous teenagers from the game of the same name, who kill and torture unfortunate survivors for the thrill of it.
The Legion is led by Frank Morrison, a delinquent bounced around foster homes his entire life. He formed the group with his girlfriend Julie, her impressionable friend Susie, and a young hothead named Joey. Originally content to cause indiscriminate acts of mayhem, they crossed the line when they murdered a janitor during a late-night robbery. This act caught the attention of The Entity, an omniversal being which feeds on pain, misery, and the destruction of hope. They accepted the chance to become one of its many agents, called Killers, and now slaughter hapless survivors at their leisure.
Ask The Legion anything you'd want. Wanna ask them about their lives? Reveal your own murderous acts or fantasies? Share tributes in the form of art or stories? Ask for headcanons; romantic, platonic, or downright strange? It's all up to you, but there are a few rules and pointers:
-NSFW is allowed but please keep it in moderation.
-No politics of ANY kind. I don't care what you believe in, and The Legion doesn't give a shit.
-I AM NOT THE LEGION. If my responses offend you in any fashion, understand that they do not reflect my personal beliefs in any way. I am merely responding in the way I think they'd respond.
-The Legion were taken in 1996, so any references to media or pop culture past that need some explaining to them.
I thought I'd practice my voice acting skills by narrating one of my original Killer's backstories and power. Lemme know if there is any issue with the audio.

And the results say y'all are interested in continuing the contest! I'm honestly surprised that people want this to go on for a second time, but the fact you want it to continue at all warms my heart. With that out of the way, I'll be making a post for officially starting the submission period later today, as well as a new set of rules so everyone can know what to expect.
I've been thinking about bringing back the Legionnaire contest. I know the last time people weren't interested in it (hardly anyone, tbh) but with the blog growing and me finding the will to write here again, I'm hoping this next iteration will go better.
For those of you not in the know, I held a contest for original members of the Legion back in the end of 2025. Hardly anyone participated and I want to try again, because I like the idea of the Legion growing as a group and the opportunity to write stories surrounding them, as well as seeing your potential writings.
Frank stepped inside, keeping his grip tight on his knife. The Houndmaster's realm was... different from the others. It was almost never used by the Entity in regular trials, and when it was used it was to punish that Taurie bitch everyone hated. Frank walked up the decaying steps of and into the office of Captain Maye.
"Ok... I'll get to the point. One of the our recruits wants to use your trial ground as a hub for the Legion. You chased him off yesterday with that... good boy of yours."
Frank eyed Snug warily while the dog growled at his indignance.
"It used to just us four, but we have four new recruits. Jamie, Vicky, Artie, and Mireille. They've been with use for a while, and they're itchin' for some extra space."
Snug stepped forward, stopping just a few feet feet from Frank. He growled at the sadistic teen.
"However, I'm aware of your... forceful personality. We've seen your handiwork in the trials; my friends Julie and Joey love to hear your trash talk. We must not be that intimidating to you to make this request, so..."
Frank bit his tongue and pride.
"What do you want from us in return for letting us use your realm as a hieout?"
Her grin widens, impressed by this teenager’s ability to pick out such important details. It showed more than just an eagerness to slash and mame; showed that there was real thought being put into this sloppy war they’d found themselves a part of.
She rises from her chair and taps her staff. Snug returns to her side as she looks down at Frank, the floor creaking beneath her shifting feet.
“Three hands, for my precious companion. Make them different, no two from the same soul.”
"Heh... I like the way you think. We'll have them for you. Pleasure working for ya, Captain Maye."
Frank takes his leave, deftly exiting the manor. As he wondered towards the edge of the realm, he turned back and spotted the silhouette of the Houndmaster and her loyal companion staring down at him. He whispered dryly to himself as he walked home to the lodge.
"Three hands... in this economy? He he he he... We'll get them... We'll get them..."

-The original Legion's reactions to the Dredge were mixed. Frank thought the damned thing was gnarly as hell and loved watching it kill Survivors. He wished he could have something like that on their side, but one encounter in the Garden of Joy changed his mind pretty quickly.
-Julie was of course creeped out and wanted nothing to do with it. She hated looking at it and listening to the sounds it made; it's one of those rare Killers that attacks anyone in the Realm, Killer or Survivor. The farther away she is from it, the better.
-Joey thinks the Dredge is radical. As a fan of 90's anime (especially more gruesome ones like Berserk I imagine) he'd get right on board with how freaky this thing looks. Being into DnD also got him thinking of using it as inspiration during the Legion's campaigns (or used to before Joey lost interest).
-Susie is in a similar boat to Julie. She thinks the Dredge is too gross for her own taste. In fact when she first saw it she almost puked. She got used to it after enough time, but like Julie, she doesn't really want anything to do with it.
-The new Legion members also have mixed opinions on the Dredge. Jamie thinks its creepy as fuck and prefers to stay away from it. He doesn't even like going near the Garden of Joy when he's mapping the Realm; he was almost consumed by the Dredge and won't be making that mistake again either.
-Vicky absolutely hates it and doesn't even like thinking about it. She may be a cold blooded murderer, but she isn't completely desensitized to horror. Her murders were sloppy because she didn't put that much effort into cleaning up after herself, mostly because she found it too disgusting to try.
-Artie likes the Dredge more for its story than its way of killing people. In his twisted mind, Artie views the Dredge as a revenge story; against high society and the cold, cruel manipulators who use the innocent as their playthings. He's projecting his own issues of course, but he doesn't realize it.
-Mireille identifies with the Dredge's story in a malicious way. She finds the creation of the Dredge and the backstory of the Garden of Joy to be an interesting story, but finds its "core themes" lacking because of Otto Stamper's involvement. In her eyes, his motivations simplify the story down to something not worth examining.
--
-In stark contrast to the Dredge, the Legion as a whole absolutely despise the Unknown. They may be the villains of their story, but in the Unknown's, they're the perfect victims.
-When Greenville first materialized, the Legion immediately entered the trial ground to tag it/meet the new Killer. They thought it would be some kind of theater themed Killer and were eager to break the newbie in.
-Frank first encountered the Unknown in grounds outside the theater; it tricked him into thinking Julie had found the Killer and attacked him when he approached. He barely escaped, and the fear produced by it convinced the Entity to put the Legion through a trial as temporarily Survivors.
-They hate the Unknown so much because it reminds them they'd be just as helpless and worthless as the Survivors they hunt. If the Entity isn't favoring them (which it is known to not do), what's stopping more powerful Killers from hunting them down whenever they wanted? Every now and then, the Unknown appears in the Ormond realm to torment the Legion.
-The Unknown torments Frank with the voice of his mother, the one person he has any positive memories of besides the others. It appears to him, watching from the tree lines with a twisted, shifting face. Having partially forgotten his mother's face, Frank is often enraged by its appearance.
-Joey and Susie are haunted by the voices of their respective parents. Like Frank, Joey is reminded of the loving mother he was forced to give up when he entered the Realm; though he abandoned morality long ago, he still dearly misses her, and is saddened when he sees her face in the trees. Susie is likewise terrified by the sound of her father's voice, who promises fresh new abuse if "he" catches her. Shortly after escaping Greenville, Susie remained in the lodge for almost a month until Vecna arrived.
-The new Legion echo this sentiment; Vicky and Artie especially despite because they are vulnerable to the Unknown's predations. It feeds on Artie's trauma by pretending to be his lost sister, mimicking her voice to draw him towards it. Vicky is attacked by the whispers and taunts of the girl who saw her for the monster she was, reminding her that all it took was one screw up to land her in the Relam.
-The Entity inhibits a Survivor's ability to fight back against the Killer by directly affecting the Amygdala, the portion of the brain responsible for a human's fight or flight response. It deactivates the neural circuits which activate the "fight" portion of the fight or flight response; even if a Survivor wants to fight back, their brains can only trigger the "flight" response, forcing them to back down.
-There have been very rare cases of Survivors managing to overcome the Entity's control over their brains through sheer willpower or intense rage, but the former requires olympian levels of patience and calm, while the latter makes it easier for the Entity to potentially turn them into a Killer.
-The Entity has the capability to physically alter a Survivor's appearance just as it does a Killer's when they disobey it. However, as stated in the previous headcanon post, the Entity has a very limited imagination. It can't self-actualize anything of its own accord, only rip off the images and memories of its victims. In essence, it needs to be directly viewing something in order to create a copy of it.
-The cat people skins for certain Killers (some of the most bizarre cosmetics to date) were the creation of Lady Tryks, not the Entity. She may wield only a small portion of the Entity's power, but that small portion is still incredibly powerful. She wanted to make cat forms for everyone, but the Entity lost interest in her ideas before she could implement them. The Legion caught wind of this and wanted cat forms for themselves, but Tryks disappeared before they could ask her.
-The Entity follows the Survivors as a hidden observer during trials, shadowing their every move no matter where they are. How does it do this? Let's start with a question. What perspective do we view the Survivors during gameplay again...?
Tryks Specific:
-Tryks erased her own memory of how she came to be in the Realm for her own amusement. She'd gone mad long before gaining her powers and thought it would be fun to piece her own backstory together after becoming the Mad Designer.
-Among her assorted backstories, her favorite speculations are a seamstress, brothel owner, roadie, pop star, and costume designer.
-She knows the secret to escaping the Realm and evading the Entity's grasp permanently, but learning the secret nearly cost Tryks her power in the Realm. She had to give up her eye to get it, and this secret is partly the reason she disappeared.
-She regularly visited Legion, Trickster, Ghostface, Skull Merchant, Trapper, and Chucky before she disappeared. Legion and Trickster were her favorites: Trickster for his theatrical personality and Legion for their youthful love of her work.
-Tryks did sometimes visit the Survivors, but under the guise of her own Survivor identity called Tracy. She'd often feed them false information or act like an idiot in the trials on purpose. After all, the Entity's Realm is just one big game to her.
-Tryks's favorite Survivors are Feng Min, Ace Visconti, and Lee Yun-jin. She enjoys Feng's enthusiasm in the trials, seeing it as unique kind of insanity. She also enjoys Ace's reliance on his luck, which intrigues her quite a bit. However, Yun-jin is her favorite sorely for the fact that she skirts the line between Survivor and Killer. The manager's story is captivating to the Mad Designer.
Legion Specific:
-Speaking of cat people, the Legion's desired cat forms are thus: Frank as a Sphynx, Julie as a Tabby, Joey as a Maine Coon, Susie as a Tortellini, Jamie as an American Bobtail, Vicky as a Persian, Artie as a Lykoi, and Mireille as a Japanese Bobtail.
-Jamie regularly attempts to map the Realm and create new safehouses for the Legion. He either loses track of where he's going or ends up in another Killer's realm by accident.
-Frank and Jamie occasionally butt heads due to their shared desire for leadership. Frank usually wins out because of his superior manipulation skills.
-Vicky hates trials that take place in trial grounds like the Backwater Swamp or Coldwind Farm. The mud never comes out of her clothes.
-Vicky frequently visits the Shelter Woods where the Skull Merchant dwells, as it reminds her of old, luxurious lifestyle.
-Artie prefers killing female Survivors and often kills them more viciously then male Survivors.
-Artie often hesitates to kill Laurie Strode because she reminds him of his sister.
-Mireille continues to perfect her dance and art skills, even in the Realm, which has earned her a slight enmity with the Trickster.
-Mireille's likes teaching Susie, Julie, and Vicky how to dance. Julie's taken to it surprisingly well, but Susie and Vicky struggle.
-Though the Entity creates most of their masks, the Legion have a special set of hand made masks. They store these in the basement of the lodge for when they think they can manipulate a Survivor into joining them. Each mask is tailor made for a specific Survivor, and must be bloodied in a trial before they can become a fully fledged Legion member.
"Hey, MiNA. Keep on the lookout for a guy named Jeff Johansen. He's an old friend of ours. Big guy, scar over his eye, long hair and beard. If ya do see him... tell him the Legion says hi."
-Frank Morrison
@thelegionsden
"Jeff Johansen? I think I would remember a rather gruff sounded fellow like that. Now I suppose it's my turn to ask you a question much like yours"
A little hum, a little haw and a noise of bemusement left the idols lips as she considered how such a man truly would look. Coming to the idea of a mixture between a mall Santa and a lumberjack the idea seemed to make her giggle in amusement.
"Do YOU have some sort of problems with this guy? What potential beef could you have with this "Jeff"? "
Her glowing hues seemed to scan over the youn man's own masked features finding it a bit irksome to not be able to read his expressions...
"We knew back in our home town, Ormond. He was a decent guy and one hell of an artist. He designed our mural, but we lost touch with him when the Entity found us. Years passed for him; he's a grown man now, but we just want him to know how grateful we are... if you catch my drift?"
