I've been hearing... noises outside of the sanctuary for a few minutes now. Heavy breathing, grunting. God damn it. I'm the only one awake. Surely. Surely the admin hasn't found us..? I'm starting to feel scared.

No, no! Keep it together. It's probably a survivor. Oh man, another survivor would be.... I don't know. I really do not know.

It's... not a survivor, is it. Should.. should I wake the crusador? I don't.... I don't know what.. what to..

No. Jesse wouldn't put his friends in danger. I.. I need to take care of this myself. Maybe I could barricade the entrance with iron bars? Maybe I could grab a weapon and charge at it?

Or I could just.. open the door. Let it kill me.

...

What a shameful thought.

"What Once Was—Now a Distant Memory"

She's gone. God damn us all, she's gone. How did she escape? We made sure the lock was secure. And the way the door was bent, the way the walls were scratched, something.. Something is not right. Who.. is the cause of this?

God damn it. What would Jesse do? Is he alright? Did he turn into one of those....things? I need some support, anything. I need to be told that I can get through this, that I can be brave like him. The loss of one father was enough, but now two..?

No. I cannot think like that. It's true, I had grown to see Jesse as a father to me. So to see him lash out like that.. with the familiar rage in his eyes I've seen throughout my childhood.. That couldn't have been him.

Gosh, my mind is all over the place right now. I need— I just need time.

..And a martini.

Entry 168.

"Containment"

I thought we had more time. I thought we could fight it, but it's too late. We've done everything we could to prevent the admin's blessing, but we failed. I know it's too dangerous to keep the hacker alive, I know of it. She knows it too. But, I just can't bring myself to hurt her.

With the crusader's help, we had managed to contain her in the basement of my sanctuary, locking her away. We hope that in these early stages of infection, she will not resist our help too much.

As of now, the Sky City Communications is under my management. However, I'm not sure if I can continue digging without the hacker's assistance. Fortunately, she has found one last communication. A message to us. I'll resume contact with this individual while figuring out what to do.

One more thing to note. Even though the hacker has been cooperative in this procedure, she was not entirely "there". She continued to ramble on and on about something not exactly worth noting. The strange thing, however, is it felt as though her words were directed towards someone else. I very much hope Harper stands strong.

"Return"

With my newfound knowledge about the admin, I was able to resist its temptations. The hacker, however, is beginning to experience these "dreams" herself. We can only pray that she understands how important it is to stay focused on the mission, and to not go digging for any information directly from the admin.

She doesn't entirely know what it is capable of, yet, and I suppose that's on me for not informing her. I thought it was what Jesse would have done; to hide the full truth in order to protect. Jesse was a good leader. Certainly he would understand the importance of it more than I.

Jesse. He is a good leader. I need to follow in his footsteps. He would never do wrong, right? It was just... It was one mistake. That's all.

Entry 5.

"Fight"

Gosh, this is unsettling. It appears the stress has really gotten to Jesse. I've never seen him lash out like that, ever. Poor Lukas.

I had noticed Jesse was on edge this morning, so I thought it would be helpful to bring him his usual cup of coffee. (I find it odd that he hasn't been making himself coffee recently.) When I returned, it was chaos. I couldn't make out much of what was being said, but I believe it was in relation to "the incident", as noted in my first entry.

There was yelling. Lots of yelling, which I had never heard Jesse do toward another person before. And, right about when I had peeked into his office, Jesse struck his husband across the face. Something was terribly, terribly wrong. I decided to take the coffee to my office instead, which had resulted in a very restless evening for me. Maybe I'll just get myself a hot chocolate next time.

"New Ally"

I apologize for my absence. I have done a lot of traveling the past few days, and haven't had time to update my logs.

I have successfully located the crusader, and discovered her identity. However, given the circumstances, I feel it is best for us both to remain anonymous. She is currently lounging in my sanctuary alongside me. I will also note that she introduced herself as an "old friend" of Jesse. Why Jesse had not spoken of her to me is beyond my knowledge.

Jesse. He surely can't be gone, right? My mentor, my hero cannot be dead. There must be a way he's still in there. Just, I know that creature, that parasite, is not Jesse.

The finding of the crusader, however, brings me hope. I am glad we now have strength in our little "team", as I do not know how I could survive much longer. I've been pondering, and I wonder if more are out there? And if there are, could I find them?

My anxiety arises whenever I think of this, but maybe, just maybe, it's my turn to be the hero.

"Flashback"

The admin. I think.. I think I know what it is. The dream I mentioned in one of my previous entries; that thing I saw? God, the conversation has been playing in my head over and over and over. What did it want from me, and was it really the admin? Has anyone else experienced such a dream? Am I finally losing my sanity?

Jesse, please come back to me. To us. I know you didn't mean it. They're just wrong about you. They'll realize that once you save the day, like you always do. You will save us right? You will get through this? You have to.

"Response"

It worked! My entries have finally reached outside land. I have received a message assuring they will help as soon as possible. The details of this brave hero are unknown at the moment. I hope I can remain in contact with "Codename; The Crusader" so we can share our findings.

Speaking of findings, I have visited the old library last night— no sign of any "blessed" beings. After what seemed like hours of searching, I noticed something peculiar. A door. A door was hidden behind a bookshelf, completely painted over it seems. I had tried moving the bookshelf to access it, but alas, I was not strong enough. You'd think after months of surviving what appears to be the end of the world, I would have gained more strength, right?

I'm sorry for rambling, I'm just starting to think I'm not cut out for this job. Am I really the last survivor of Beacontown? It can't be. There has to be others. Citizens much stronger than I. Whoever the crusader is, I hope they can truly help us.

"My Studies"

Today marks day 6 since the Beacontown evacuation. I had scavenged for any books, articles, or myths about this so-called "admin", yet my research came to unfortunately nothing. I'm starting to wonder if this god is even real, or if it's a man-made excuse for everything that's happening.

I am fearful I will need to leave my living quarters eventually, as my food will inevitably run out. I pray my current supply will last me until this entire thing ends. I will continue to search for answers; this needs to be solved.

Hello? Please, if someone find this, send help. This is my 4th attempt to reach the outside lands. Something is wrong. Very wrong. I was venturing into the forest today to gather firewood. I saw something, and I know it saw me too. Can it track my scent? Does it remember my face?

"Eye of the Tornado"

It's a gorgeous day in Beacontown — very different from the previous. I can thankfully say the tension from the day before has entirely disappeared. It is hard to believe that someone like me could even behold such a violent sight.

I can now appreciate the beauty again. The blooming flowers, the soft breeze, everything.

I will try my hardest to update as the week continues. My writing is a good distraction from the world.
