Receiving love letters may not be so new to this captain. With that face? C’mon.
Kuroo seems like the type of person who’d keep the letters safe in a tin box
Kuroo gets letters every now and then from different people, and he absolutely loves reading them and trying to figure out who the senders are (and he’s pretty good at it too)
Some of them come and go, but there has been only one constant sender, the only identity he couldn’t decipher.
It only intrigued him further.
Unlike the rest, Kuroo seemed to always look forward to receiving letters from this specific person like a detective being handed a clue that could solve a case
Unfortunately for him, this case seemed impossible to solve
There was that tiny part in him that secretly hoped it would be his crush, the person whom he found oh-so interesting since their first conversation, the person who managed to earn his gaze every time they walked by
But Kuroo knew it would be somewhat a fantasy if his fantasy was his reality. So, he could only hope, right?
Until one day, the culprit was caught in the middle of their crime
Kuroo found his crush by his shoe locker, slipping paper through the locker’s cracks before walking away, not even noticing his presence nearby
As soon as they were out of sight, Kuroo would lunge for his locker in haste
He’d open the letter to find that the handwriting is exactly the same as the letters he’d read so religiously
“Oh, I’ve got you now,” he’d whisper under his breath
A smile would make its way to his lips as he turns on his heels to chase after the culprit, his secret admirer, his crush.
Bokuto would be so extremely happy to receive a love letter!
He’d be the type to keep it in his bag until it gets all folded up and ends up in the bottom of the bag
Bokuto likes to bring it with him everywhere and keeping it in his bag—something he brings with him everyday—seemed ideal to him!
Figuring out the identity of his admirer has never really occurred to Bokuto until Konoha brings it up
“Bo, aren’t you curious?” Konoha would ask, wearing a shit-eating grin
“A little,” Bokuto would say, jutting his bottom lip in thought. “But they’ll only want to reveal themselves if they want to, so, it’s completely up to them!”
That would leave his teammates a little bewildered
But now, Bokuto found his curiosity heightening as the days went on.
Who could it be? What did they look like? Could it be someone playing a prank on him? Could it be that one cute person from his class?
It would grow to the point where he’d think about it constantly, distracting him from doing normal things and practices
Cue the third years hitting Konoha for fuelling his curiosity
One day, Bokuto would receive another letter saying they’re ready to reveal themselves and asking him to meet them after school
Now, Bokuto is both nervous and excited?!
Later at the agreed meeting place, this boy would practically be shaking with eyes frantically shifting from one passerby to another
When he finally spots someone approaching him with a sheepish smile, Bokuto stiffens, a big fat smile gracing his lips
It was the cute person from his class!
When they begin to introduce themselves bashfully, Bokuto just cuts them off with a tight embrace
“It was you!” Bokuto would laugh cheerfully, lifting them off their feet and would begin spinning them around
When Tanaka finds a love letter left on his desk, this boy would have very conflicting emotions
First, he’d be so thrilled because wow, there’s someone who was interested in him!
The his feelings would becoming very…perplexed
He’s grown so used to being rejected so now that someone actually liked him…
“Is this what it’s like to have hope?” he’d think to himself
Then he read the letter and spiralled
His secret admirer would like to meet him after school!
Was this some kind of prank? This seemed too good to be true
Tanaka tries to think of possible people who could have a crush on him but his mind drew a blank
But his eyes would slide over though to that cute person in his class, the one he’s been staring at a lot lately
Then he’d slap his own face and scream “THAT’S EVEN MORE IMPOSSIBLE!”
He’d be paranoid the whole day and jump at everyone who approached him
“Is it you?!” he’d mentally scream at them
He’d tell Nishinoya about it and the libero would be so thrilled for him too!
Then Noya insists on accompanying him when he meets his secret admirer
Tanaka refuses and says that he has to do it alone
Because if it was a prank, there’ll be less witnesses
“How manly!” Nishinoya says as his way of agreeing (But he’ll still be there hiding in the bushes, watch him)
When the time finally arrives and sees that it is indeed the person that he’s interested in, Tanaka would just go speechless
Then his crush would confess and now Tanaka.exe has stopped working
When Tanaka just kind of stares at them in bewilderment without saying anything, they’d take it as him rejecting them
So when they excuse themselves to run away from embarrassment, Tanaka just grabs their wrist with his expression unchanged
“Marry me!” are the first words that slips out of his mouth
Now, they’re just laughing nervously with their face turning obviously red
“At least take me out on a date first,” they’d say
Tanaka just nods his vigorously, not even trusting himself to speak
Cue Nishinoya cheering from the bushes
