marina and eight combining teleportation and icy winter wonderland shit (yes i know she only got them after he died i’m still in denial sshhh) so that random ice stalagmites pop up all over the show and through the mogs

six and nine put invisibility and antigravity together and make the perfect secret soldier who can run up trees without being shot at and shoot down at mogs from above

five and john combine lumen and that weird ‘turning into whatever you touch’ thing to make five a literal ball of fire

(and sam is a huge fucking nerd who would give the combos names like ‘appearing ice’ and ‘secret weapon’ and ‘the fireball’)

why haven’t i read a fic about this yet. where are all the fic writers. what are they doing.

the hunger games locations: district 2

Furthermore, they train their children ready for the Hunger Games each year, and therefore, the tributes from District 2 are known as Career tributes. District 2 is where most Peacekeepers are recruited, trained, and where weapons are manufactured.

Edits are images or gif sets that have taken hours of careful thought or inspiration blogging, hours of placing the text in the perfect place or changing the hue of an image even a few pixels, all done by one artist or maybe two people it it was made in a collaboration. It is someone’s pride, it is someone’s valued time and effort that they used up to share something beautiful with us whether here on Tumblr, in the fandom or online browsing in general to appreciate. Some of the editors edit in a few hours, some edit for a week’s span of time. The same can be said of videos, of sketches and digital works of art, and even of written fan work. That final product is someone else’s thought process, that secret, visual section of their brain that they have splattered all over in image of something they love, whether it’s a movie, book, or tv show.

You have now stolen someone else’s creativity and you are encouraging them that they are not worth the time to be creative. All of that time, all the energy in altering the text and pictures, the bubbling excitement that their friends will see the special edits and share it with cute comments, suddenly does not matter since you the thief are adding to the norm that you do not have to be creative if you can find an edit that’s well done and beautiful without a watermark and repost it under your name for a few likes.

Why do “likes” and “reblogs” matter so much more for you than for the original? Guess what, they don’t.

Don’t the original makers have a right to create like every other artist? Don’t they have a right to a like just like you? Oh but they do.

I and everyone else in a fandom cannot reiterate this enough: do not take what is not yours and claim it as such. Do not take edits, do not take gifs, do not take a set of something that was clearly uploaded to someone else’s blog under their URL trademark and in their style.

You hate that artists use big, flashy watermarks unless you purchase the print itself? Congratulations, you are the reason for those copyright tags. That is now more time, now time wasted, by someone else original just to try and avoid seeing their creativity sapped by someone too lazy to do something unique.

Jay is super correct. Stealing someone else’s edits or artworks is downright the most discouraging thing that can probably happen to an artist. You wouldn’t like it if someone else was credited for something you made.

But the fandom also has to be aware of what they’re reblogging as well. I know it’s hard to keep track of every single post that has been made, but what’s also really upsetting is seeing your favorite blogs giving nice comments to posts that were stolen from you.

And the creator has every right to defend themselves in case their work gets stolen!! It’s not rude to stand up against something so obviously wrong.
