Engagement

I felt engaged when I was interning for the ARC, they made me felt very belong by including me to all the meeting they have, and me to all the employees social hours which was super fun and made me feel belonged. 

The environment was a mixture of recreational and professional. 

My engaged activities are usually brainstorming, playing volleyball, or watch Netflix

Work View and Life View

Work View:

Work to me is something that can support me financially, its my contribution to the society where I get rewarded with things that I need in life. I do it, because not only this is the way the society functions, but it’s also a way to fulfill my life and standing on my own feet.  Good work to me contains motivations and passions. If you are not passionate about the work you are doing, it’s not going to be good. If you don’t have motivation to do certain work, that most likely means you are not interested in it, and thus will lead to not as good of an outcome. 

Life View:

What makes life valuable is all the connections and memories you have made while your body still functions. Family, community and world is always a part of my life. They are included and can not be separated. Money and fame are the physical satisfactions one can receive from a satisfying life, however personal accomplishment is more internal. 

Work and life compliment another then it is balanced, work supports life and life supports work, its like a cycle and support each other. They clash when it is unbalanced. When work intrudes into life, or life intrudes into work, things get messy and complicated. Life and work co-exisit but can not have on drive another one.

My name is Loki Wu and I am a 4th year student pursuing my bachelor of science degree in Integrated Digital Media at New York University with a concentration in Videography, Photography and Graphic Design. 

2ming Story:

My name is Loki Wu and I am a 4th year student pursuing my bachelor of science degree in Integrated Digital Media at New York University with a concentration in Videography, Photography and Graphic Design. I was born and raise in China, and I went to high school in Los Angeles. At my first internship in Shenzhen, China, I was a director-producer intern, working on documentaries. I gained insight on basic editing skill and storytelling which led me to wanting to explore more in video editing. It wasn’t until my latest internship with the American Red Cross, where I worked as a Visual Storyteller, I noticed that the eastern society and the western society has their own ways of storytelling. I think the combination of both ways will create some new chemistry, and can be new trend for documentaries, and this is the direction I would like to pursue in my career.
