i only do g x b or g x g. i will not do b x b, even if it is for your side. i am simply uncomfortable with it due to part experiences.

i will not roleplay with anybody older than twenty-three (twenty-four is pushing it for me). please PLEASE!! let me know how old you are before we get going, i do not want to find out i’ve been roleplaying with a 30 y.o. the whole time.

i am a semi-lit writer (i’d like to think at least!) so please try to match my writing length.

First thing, I think that Shane could introduce them went they got 'serious' and Grace stuff started to appear around the house.

Grace is used to be around kids, since she had younger siblings and a bunch of cousins growing up, so she could always try her best around Mel (maybe even tried to not smoke so much around her); getting her out, teaching her stuff her own mom did.

mel was very much a daddy’s girl, esp younger mel. like that is *her* papa through and through, and she carries a lot of his personality and traits, it becomes very noticeable to the group more so after shane dies.

preapoc mel and shane, esp before matt comes into the picture, they’re two peas in a pod. anything lil mel wants she gets with no questions asked. sure shane may have been a little short for cash before he got the job at the police department but anything for his little girl, right? definitely played princess dress up with her, did her hair, went to daddy daughter dances 🥹

mentally stable shane and mentally stable mel oh my god

postapoc mel and shane, they’re definitely still close. but mel is like ‘hey dad maybe yknow don’t try taking rick’s wife 🧐’ but obviously he doesn’t listen, and his children eventually reap the consequences of this!

when they’re at the farm, mel is sick like nearly the entire time (my poor baby girl) so shane’s torn between trynna be leader #2 (still) and trynna care for his daughter and he sits with her at night, talks to her and even though bros going insane! he’s still there for her cause she’s still his little girl even if she is almost 20 years old.

the night the farm gets overran, mel is like just barely able to get up and properly use a gun and as she’s waddling her way downstairs to find some dinner, BAM! she hears the gunshot from the field that unbeknownst to her till late was the one that killed shane.

mel does wear shane’s dog tags and has very rarely taken them off. a lot of the group since shane’s passing has further noticed shane’s traits and mannerisms showing through in mel, especially the avoidant behaviors and anger.

NOW, MATT.

matt’s an odd fella and no one knows where the hell he got it from. like he’s just a strange lil dude but he’s smart as hell (hence why he becomes eugene’s ‘apprentice’ later on)

preapoc shane tries to push matt to do like little league rec sports, like football soccer baseball ANYTHING??? but matt has absolutely no interest and shane eventually gives up on trynna get him into sports and instead gives into matt’s different interests, matt was definitely a star wars kid, so lots of star wars movies on repeat in the walsh household

eventually shane does try getting it into matt’s head for when he’s older to become a cop like his dad and sure enough, somehow someway, that stuck. don’t know how.

postapoc, matt’s still an odd lil dude… BUT the whole cop idea is still stuck in his head, he thinks the apocalypse will end and hes all like ‘yeah imma fight these bad guys (walkers) and be like my dad’ and was oblivious to what shane was doing.

mel eventually does tell matt what was happening and matt, understandably, gets angry, but that’s still his dad, but lori is also his best friend’s (carl) mom how could his dad do this 🫪

at the farm, matt kind of follows shane around most the time cause he doesn’t wanna see mel in the condition she’s in. he knows if she dies and he’s there when it happens then he’d have to kill her, or he could get attacked if she reanimated, even though shane has told him SO MANY TIMES ‘your sister isn’t going to die, don’t worry.’ yet matt sticks to shane, who despite becoming angrier during this period still has that soft spot for his kids, matt’s his boy who wants to be like him, how could he be angry at that lil fella?

WHENNNN it comes down to the night of the farm getting overrun and rick killing shane, matt was there with carl.. gulp.

shane tries reasoning with rick more after seeing matt just pop up, being like ‘you’re gonna do this in front of my kid?’ but yknow! obviously rick *is* gonna do this in front of not only matt but also carl😜 so matt obviously becomes traumatized after watching someone he considered an uncle kill his dad and matt doesn’t speak to rick for like 3 months aside from like glaring at him or muttering under his breath.

matt doesn’t carry as much of shane’s mannerisms or traits as mel does.
