He’s separated himself from people for a long time and it’s painful to be alone all the time, but connecting can be even more painful. Fighting is the most comfortable form of social contact for him.

Brief History: Pre-canon, Kyouya was raised in Namimori, first by his mother in her house, then later by his father and stepmother when she took ill and started living at the hospital. As the product of a one-time affair, he is not entirely welcome or liked at the family estate, and suffered abuse at the hands of his step-grandmother for some years before he started living on his own in the other house. His current relationship with his family is laughable, especially since his biological mother passed. (5yl) Post-canon, he is on testosterone, and as of 5yl has had top surgery.

Other Headcanons: Oh I have so many help me. Here are a few. -Gender is not at all a solid concept for him, considered himself completely genderless until he was 10-12. Is on T, doesn’t plan to get bottom surgery -He has an undiagnosed eating disorder which has improved in the past 5 years; he was in terrible condition in 5YL but has gotten better. Will become a problem if his depression flares up though. -Kyouya is autistic -Loves being called ugly, hates being called stupid. -Tries to visit mom’s grave monthly -Did not go to college. - Traits of/undiagnosed antisocial personality disorder AND symptoms of cystic fibrosis, which killed his mother -Prides himself on being the most AND least reliable guardian -Genuinely enjoys the company of several of the guardians (Takeshi, Chrome!!!) and Mukuro, but will not tolerate any of them in any sort of group; it becomes overwhelming and stressful and gives him hives. -His house is a MESS is Tetsuya isn’t there to clean up after him. -Has some untreated childhood PTSD from various things that he’s not dealing with yet.

Appearance: Mukuro is 5'11" and 131 lbs, extremely slender with broad, square shoulders and long, thin limbs. Ze has pale almond skin with golden undertones and long, straight raven hair to their hips that frizzes in the rain and is almost always tied back. Zir right eye is crimson, a glass eye that ze uses illusions to make appear real, and zir left is a natural bright blue. With expressive brows, a strong nose, deep cheekbones, and full lips, ze’s the picture of Desi. Ze’s strongly androgynous, with a face most mistake to be a handsome woman’s but a voice a little too deep to trick anyone (if ze doesn’t use illusions). When animated ze tends to gesticulate, but usually ze is very controlled and self-contained, limbs close to zir body and body language unintrusive (often understood as feminine). Zir ears are pierced to hell, zir tongue has two studs vertically, and ze has somewhere in the twenties of body piercings, as well as two fairly large black body tattoos that are usually hidden under clothes. Ze almost always wears a jacket and low-cut, form-fitting pants and boots (usually at least up to the knee, and heels no less than 3"), though zir shirt may widely vary, and ze likes watches. Zir fashion is usually shades of black with some white and grey, but includes other dark colours–and one surprisingly neon yellow jacket ze fell in love with, don’t ask. 

Personality: MBTI–XSTJ. Enneagram–8w7. Element–Air. Gemini Sun, Leo Moon, Aquarius Rising. IQ in the 150s. Mukuro’s morality is rather arbitrary, at times noble, at times depraved. Ze is fiercely loyal to those ze accepts into zir fold and violently treacherous to anyone outside. Often times volatile but almost always controlled, ze offers smiles that could kiss or kill and steeples zir fingers as if wondering how best to wring you dry. Sensual and saucy, varying between coy and salacious, ze picks targets like cards to find fun for the night or blood to spill as though there isn’t a difference, and skips between weekend lovers and assassinations ze carried out in bed like a very amused succubus, all the while maintaining a very carefully designed reputation as a dangerous trickster without a single image of zir face ever recorded, using illusions that interfere with cameras to hide zir real face from anyone who hasn’t already seen it. Ze is the epitome of unpredictable, sometimes coming in peace, sometimes in war, and sometimes just to yank your chain, easily frustrated in times of quiet and eager to catch people unawares. Being a mentalist and a master of sleight of hand, ze can absolutely gamble you out of your trousers and is always happy to do so, especially with a daiquiri and time to spare. In private Mukuro is a sensitive soul but almost impossible to read, always suffering from sleep deprivation and usually some hallucinations that come and go with the tide. While ze would love to sit with a cat, animals all seem to catch on to zir personal connection to hell and view zir only with hostility and fear, no matter how long ze puts cat food on zir balcony. With the Gang ze is often playful or a stable presence, shamelessly cheating at video games and hiding snacks so that Ken won’t get to them, except when ze dissociates (which is significantly less often than as a teen) and floats about Healthy Land like a ghost. No one else will ever get to see that.

Brief History: After the Rainbow Arc Mukuro took some time to recuperate, and at 17 ze…enrolled in high school. Even for a moment, ze wanted to understand the world as the Vongola decimo did, if only to help zir plan against them. Things did not go as planned. Ze could have cheated if ze really tried but having no schooling in zir entire life and only the memories of an American in the 70s with any relevance, ze flunked out within the first semester (but you’ll never find a record of it or hear it from zir). With a disgruntled shrug ze moved on, still haunted by Vendicare and zir memories of a future that would never happen, slowly beginning to accept zir body and come to terms with it. Zir early interest in body modification deepened, starting with zir ear piercings before meeting the Vongola and continuing on whenever ze had a chance, trying to convince zirself with pain and sensation that this was zir body and not one ze merely possessed. In the process ze became crueler, moving from murder to torture of mafiosi who dabbled in things ze hated the most (human trafficking, child trafficking, etc) for the satisfaction, and found a new side of zirself ze both loved and feared. Perhaps ze really was the monster–a fact ze’d touted all along and never quite believed. By twenty ze’d come into zir own, becoming confident enough in zir physicality to move onto sexuality as a weapon, and became a force to be reckoned with, a master manipulator full of rage and rebellion (and fear that no one else would ever know). Something changed–in the future, ze had been in the regenerative fluid of the tank for a decade, but in this timeline ze had spent the last four years free, and the sight in zir right eye began to fade and it began to hurt. For months it grew worse and into a constant migraine, finally deadening altogether and dulling into the glaze of death. Ze pulled out the eye, rotted by constant channeling of the energies of hell, and replaced it with a glass eye so that no one would know. 

Other Headcanons: -Has common nightmares and night terrors. In night terrors, zir subconscious occasionally controls illusions that makes the monsters real. -Doesn’t take off zir gloves for anything but bathing. You won’t get to see zir hands. -No one, not even the Gang, knows about the blindness in zir right eye. -Did not find Guido Greco after returning to the past. -Schizoaffective (bipolar ii), depression, C-PTSD, derealisation-depersonalisation disorder. -Von Willebrand disease, sensitive nerves, and violently ill reactions to ingesting concentrated animal products. -Ze collects colognes and has several motorcycles. Ze can’t drive anything with more than two wheels. -Is fine with showers and baths but won’t get near open water. -Likes Star Trek and Supernatural. -Was bound to naraka by the hell rings seven lifetimes ago, when zir past life gave their soul for the rings’ power, and the Estraneo experiments opened a channel in zir soul to the paths. -Deathly terrified of syringes.

The best summary of Reborn’s appearance is androgynous. His 6′ frame is wiry and sleek with a musculature that isn’t apparent beneath his tailored suits. He is all high cheekbones and delicate features, dark eyes against lightly tanned skin. His black hair, though immaculately maintained, has a wild, boyish curl that can’t be properly tamed. All in all it is his reputation that is fearsome ––– not his appearance.

Though he’s worked as a hitman for over sixty years, Reborn has managed to retain much of his humanity by adhering to a code of morals. He will not hesitate to do what needs to be done, however. One does not become the world’s greatest hitman by being soft. Though he values loyalty and encourages others to work together to acheieve common goals, he can also be spiteful, petty, and ruthless in his own right. He is unforgiving and frequently critical.

He has foregone his signature raccoon tail, but he still keeps red-orange feathers and a teal cord tied into his locks. His eyes are a dark red that turn more brown around the pupil.

Xanxus has been aptly described as “the dark side of the mafia”. Cunning and merciless, he has managed to nearly depose the Vongola Nono twice before the age of seventeen. He is also ill-tempered and brutal, much preferring to settle conflict through violence rather than words. His temper has mellowed somewhat with age, but he remains proud, spiteful, and borderline reclusive.

Brief History:

Though Xanxus’ no longer actively seeks the position of Vongola Decimo, safeguarding the interests of the Vongola (and Varia) is of the utmost importance to him. Though he has refused to repent for his actions or attempt to reconcile with his father, he has sought to solidify his position in the family in other ways; he will never be liked, but he will be respected ––– feared. His life has otherwise continued as normal:

Following his failed second coup during the Varia arc, he began to use his mother’s surname, Accerbi, once more.

Xanxus’ flame type makes (Sky combined with Storm to make Wrath) makes it virtually impossible for him to use most rings and box weapons. His ring and Bester’s box were both custom made and are currently the only ones he can use.

Bester remains out of his box and at Xanxus’ side the majority of the time.
