Devon just nodded. “Okay. Questions, I get that.” He looked at him for a second. “Have you been here for a long time?”
“For a couple of months, I’m getting used to it, but I love working here. It’s a great facility with staff who really care, and Ive had no problems here.”
“I don’t mean to sound rude or anything, but do they actually know what they are doing? They are interns after all” He asked looking at the man.
“They know the basics, but we’re here if they have any questions. Don’t worry, you’re right to ask questions. You’re in good hands.”
“Interns?” He asked while he started walking. “I had no clue that interns worked in here. Do they help out?”
“Yeah, it’s a great place for them to get some experience and we find that the young kids particularly benefit from them as they are easier for them to talk to.” Mark nodded before pulling another smile towards him.
“Okay, that would be great thanks.” He said eager to follow the man to the music room. “Nice meeting you. I’m devon, a patient but I’m going to guess thats quite obvious.”
Mark chuckled to himself before nodding. “You can never be too sure with these interns walking around.” He would humour the young male to make him feel as comfortable as possible. “Please, feel free to follow.”
Excuse me? Could you please tell me where to find the music room? I’m new in here and this place is way bigger than what I thought, it’s starting to feel impossible to find it.
“Of course, yeah. It would be easier to just take you there instead of giving you a long list of directions you probably won’t remember.” He gave the young male a slight smile. “I’m Mark, a therapist here at Serentiy.”
“Is non-existent an option?”
Mark had to appreciate the young male’s humour. Smiling, he shook his head and crossed his arms. “Unfortunately, that isn’t an option.”
“Are you sure? Because my idea of pleasure sure ain’t being interrogated twice a month.”
“I definitely do not conduct my sessions in an accusatory tone. It can be a light chat, as deep or shallow as you wish.”
“Pleasure. You guys keep using that word. Are you sure you know what it means?” Brook asked, laughing a bit at his own reference. “It’s Brooks, by the way. I go by Brooks.”
“A certainly hope so, I mean, I’ve been doing this for a while. Brooks, my apologies.”
“Excuse me? Do you think you could help me?”
“It’s my job to help. What’s up?”
Piper walked out of her room, rubbing her eyes whilst trying to adjust to the light. She hadn’t been able to sleep with all the noise coming from outside her room. “Why is everyone so loud here? Shouldn’t that be against the rules or something?” she groaned.
Mark looked towards the blonde. “We apologize, but patients suffering from nightmare disorders simply can’t help it. One of my colleagues has gone to comfort and peace should come back relatively soon. Sorry, again.
“Okay...” The male pushed his glasses further up his nose before looking down at his new list. “Brooklyn, Cecelia, Rowan and Payton, you guys have the pleasure of having me as a therapist.”
“This place has literally gotten a million times worse.” Rogan let out a deep sigh and leaned back in his seat. Spending the majority of the day watching stupid movies in the rec room only made him want to escape more. “When does it get better or is that a lie as well?”

“It gets better when you start coming to sessions.” Mark pulled a friendly smile but raised his eyebrows at the same time, hinting that he was somewhat serious. Patients had to want to help themselves, it was necessary for their recovery.

You look like you could use some cheering up. Hi, I’m the head of the cheering up department my name is Dr….. Dr. Happy Face. That’s 2 Doctor’s in there, that’s just how good I am. So how can I help, how can I cheer that upside down frown?
“Dr. Happy Face?” With a concerned look on his face, the therapist looked towards the young blonde. She was clearly intoxicated, and it didn’t sit well with Mark; Serenity was supposed to be a safe place, and someone had betrayed that trust by giving it to her. “You need to come with me.”
“Oh- Okay! Do I come with you at this time?” Marguerite questioned with a slight hint of confusion. She still wasn’t used to the routine around here..despite not being that new.
“We can make this time yours, yes, seen as I actually had time to chase you up.” Offering a warm smile, the male nodded towards the blonde.
The blonde nodded her head slowly, her tongue beginning to numb as she felt embarrassed for not really knowing what to say….and forgetting. “What if I do not want to talk or have nothing to talk about? Will I get in trouble?”
“We’ll find something to talk about, even if it’s just a little thing. But it is against the rules to not attend sessions so I don’t advise it.” The male was trying to be as kind as he possibly could, but he wanted to put the message across that therapy was vital in the life of all patients.
She folded her arms behind her back childishly, rocking on her heels. “That is nice.” She complimented softly, keeping her gaze downwards before looking back up. “Do we have to talk? What if I forget to come talk?”
“That’s the idea of it, yeah. Sessions are compulsory, so if you don’t show I’ll be forced to play the bad guy and chase you up, and I’m not a big fan of that.”
The girl blushed. “Oh.” Marguerite did not know she had to attend therapy..and she turned around, twiddling her thumbs. “Salut.” She muttered softly in greeting, clearing her throat. “I am Marguerite, your new patient, I think.” The girl tried to smile, nodding her head. “I am very much sorry I did not come. I did not know I had a therapist.”
Mark smiled. “That’s understandable, not many medical patients realise that they’ve been assigned one. We like to give everyone one, just to see how you’re doing and so on, sometimes it can get a little lonely around, or you just want someone to talk to about your experiences; it doesn’t all have to negative.”
