this may be a somewhat unpopular and anachronistic opinion, but i've always felt like the instrumental for cher lloyd's want u back portrays this unbounded, playful, infinite feeling of true love that i have very rarely seen replicated in pop music. and i think that feeling can easily be shaped by the pitch/speed it's being played at—the wav file of the instrumental i have on my desktop is in E major while the original is in D, making it brighter and slightly more melancholic

it gets totally betrayed by the lyrics but w/e
