Okay—I finally got around to asking! I have no idea if said questions can be answered, but I’ll ask them anyway-

1. Is Fire still gonna be a sweetheart deep down?

2. Is ‘How it feels to disappear’ still canon, or has that/Leaf’s backstory largely changed?

And 3. How’re y’all been doing? Y’all doing good? I hope so! :]

the best answer i could give is that "it's complicated." tbh always was but i plan to focus more on the layers behind him than i was before... so digging into whatever the fuck is wrong with him is something i look forward to yall doing once we get back there :)

THANKFULLY, HIFTDdescent paused at the exact point in the story where i would've needed to start rewriting things. i think everything shown so far is still canon. the planned things for when it continued would've been outdated but thanks to my crippling creative block, once we continue the story we'll be able to tell it as it is in up-to-date missing numbers :D

STATUS UPDATE: 200 FOLLOWERS?!

first thing's first: we truly can't thank you guys enough. the support and small community surrounding this blog have been incredible, and its people like you all that keep us going!

now, with this post, i wanted to give a bit of an update on the current state of things and where we'll be going from here!

Missing Numbers has changed a lot since its conception. frankly, i can barely believe its been more than 2 years since this blog was made, and the original ideas have been around even longer. looking back at where we started, i'm not really... the proudest of how it started out. as time has gone on, though, especially since we began NewGame, we have been cleaning up a lot more, and we're excited to share the direction we're going in!

i've been wanting to share what these changes will look like, so we can move forward with yall knowing exactly what to expect. so...

PATCH NOTES:

amongst ourselves, we're focusing on collaborating way more. look forward to seeing more teamwork on the art and writing as we each play into our strengths to make something we can be even more proud of.

we want to put more emphasis on original stories, rather than just reimagined pokepastas. though we still wear these inspirations on our sleeve, the stories you might be more familiar with will be going in a more unique direction! not to mention the many stories for other games/regions that we've been cooking from the ground up...

on that note: the blog's plot will now be primarily following a completely original cast as the main characters, with frequent interactions with more familiar faces as you continue to explore. i hope you all have fun getting to know them and their places in the world of pokemon.

update frequency will still be inconsistent for the foreseeable future as we are all still dealing with life outside of the blog, but we do hope that our more teamwork-oriented approach will let us progress a bit more often. as always, though, we thank you guys for your patience and for always coming back once we continue again!

with the earlier blog being less focused and featuring earlier versions of the characters, the pre-NewGame story posts are all... dubiously canon. there will be retcons and inconsistencies that i'd love to fix, but it's just not feasible to go back and rewrite everything. our inbox is always open if theres anything you have questions about.
