Double Take #2
When I first took that picture I was focussed on the singularity of it. I never had seen this concept before and I thought it was very esthetic. It is simple and yet so powerful. When you think about it there are only vertical and horizontal lines, and three different shapes of color, but yet there is a deeper meaning behind this. The double take exercise opened my eyes on the deeper meanings of pictures. Looking at this picture long enough made me feel sad and lonely. Sad and lonely even physically close to people. It made me wonder about the human condition and how lonely you can feel even surrounded by thousands of people every minutes of your life. Nobody understands you, you don’t understand anybody. Be proud of who you are because at the end of the day right before falling asleep, you have to deal with yourself and nobody else.
Double Take #1
When I first took this picture it was for esthetic reasons. The picture in massive. It is agressive, bright, and in very high definition. Standing in front of this made me feel extremely small, as if I was looking through a plane window, witness of the world. I did not choose it for my five best pictures because I did not feel the ART, or the MESSAGE. I then realized that the photographer perhaps wanted to show the impact of modern civilisations on our nature. Witnessing the massive destruction of our planet for esthetic purposes. It made me wonder about ones priorities in life, and about what kind of earth will we leave behind. The photographer turned something dreadful into a piece of art. I needed sometime to realize it.
