The New Modern Bride ft Solange

Solange and long term boyfriend Alan Ferguson tied the knot this weekend in New Orleans. Filled with simplicity and elegance, from the bridal party to the wedding gown, her whole style exemplifies the Modern Bride.

“Everyone I worked with on the wedding are friends who I love,” said Solange via email according to Vogue. “Everything was a labor of love.” Her non traditional dress was made by her friend and very talented designer Humberto Leon for Kenzo. Instead of the very popular wedding dress style of a gown with a long circle train, Solange went the high fashion route by wearing a floor length gown accompanied by a super chic cape. 

For her actual ceremony, Solange and her husband Alan opted out of the stretch limos and luxury cars and arrived to the wedding on all white bicycles. Her ceremony outfit was not a dress, but instead, she chose to wear a low-cut cream colored jumpsuit that also came with a sophisticated cape.

Say goodbye to hideous bridesmaids' dresses and loud colors. Solange goes against tradition with having all of her guest and bridal party wear all white, which traditionally is a big NO in weddings. Many argue that the bride should be the only one in white because the bride should be the center of attention, however Solange had no problem with maintaining the spotlight.  We love how Solange allowed her bridal party to express their own style and creativity with different types of dresses, however she maintained uniformity and elegance with having everyone wear all white.

Solange wedding represents the new trend of the modern bride who chooses to plan her wedding based on her own personal style and who they are instead of traditions. Solange wedding was the epitome of modern elegance and sophistication and we see many brides following in her footsteps in 2015!
