Finished my 5th 1200K last week. The 1290K Cascade in Washington. Amazing ride through our beautiful state. Was glad to share it with friends Hahn and James, among many others.
2011 MAP Randonneur Project bike has been re-sprayed Fairy Godmother Blue. Sparkle finish not visible in this pic. Can’t wait to see it in person and get the bike put back together! (Stem and decaleur are from an unrelated project).

hungry!
Can it be summer now?
Sometimes we go out for coffee and play with our cameras. So much light in this place and a really cool wall with stenciled gold paint.
Making coffee and bread at home.
Had so much fun hosting the 1000K this weekend. Almost as exhausting as riding it two weeks before!

View from the Volcanic Arc 1000K yesterday. Most riders are now in or approaching Redmond, OR for the second sleep stop before heading to the finish in Eugene.

"Do you know what Clement was?" “Yes” “Good, a lot of people come in here and don’t know. I have to tell them it’s only the best tire brand of all time.”
Elliott Bay Bicycles in Seattle is closing. Bob is retiring, Bill will open a new space where he can continue to build Davidson custom bicycles.
I visited their shop last year before starting the Seattle International Randonneurs' Crater lake 1000K. Chatting with Bob and admiring the collection of beautiful old bikes was a lot of fun and took the anxious edge off of the evening (I was nervous about the ride). Remembering that you should always buy at least one thing when you visit a great bike shop, I purchased a Clement cap and wore it for the 1000K.
My friend Bob Grunau posted this photo to Tumblr of a Clement cap he just bought at Elliott Bay where they are closing out their inventory.
Here's an article about the shop closing down: http://blog.seattlepi.com/velocity/2014/09/11/farewell-elliott-bay-bicycles/
Great start to a new Tuesday series #pdxtrophycup
No offense to anyone else at interbike, I saw a lot of cool stuff, but this is what we talked about the most.
