The Book of Jim: Section 1- Early Childhood
There isn’t much known about how Jim came to be who he was. Or how he came to be considered the child of Janice and Dick Pickens. Rumors range from he was born theirs, swapped at birth, kidnapped, or even dropped by the stork. Whatever the truth really is, he found his way to the Pickens family. As an infant Jim was incredibly smart, charming, and quite hilarious. Some things never change I guess. From the years of 0 to 6 he was mostly found to be chewing on the electrical wires found in the closet where he slept in his parents bedroom, or sometimes licking the paint chips that fell onto the floor. His parents were very forgetful. Sometimes the couple forgot they had a child at all!Â
Around the age of 7, Jim’s family moved into a new home equipped with beaded doorways at every turn. This was Dick’s choice. As was many of the other purchases found in the Pickens household. Janice was not a fan of all Dick’s purchases especially since most were some kind of unwanted tech. Jim was quite interested with Bonehilda, the skeleton maid. This started his interest in his future husband, the Grim Reaper himself. Jim’s mom might have been seeing the neighbor, Brad, however these details are unknown. Brad may have also been seeing Dick. Dick went for an entertainment career, however he often missed work and would sleep in his son’s bed as Janice barely let him sleep in their plush vibrating bed.Â
Jim started to seek attention anyway he could, the most popular way was through standing in front of the school bus and waiting for the bus driver to honk and yell at him to get out of the way. Jim took care of himself along with most of the household chores, while his parents spent most of their time in the hot tub. With no malicious intentions from Janice, she decided to invite the neighbors over for a nice pool party in the pool Dick got for the family. While having guests over, six neighbors died due to no ladder. Which sent Jim into crying for most of his childhood, and with no one to help him with the trauma most likely influenced who he became to be. Meanwhile, his father set out to become a global celebrity. This failed.Â
At some point during his early years, his mother died and was brought back by the Grim Reaper. Which was Jim’s first introduction to the stunning man in black. Dick left the family for a bit to go and try to pursue his career in fame yet again, however this was a fail yet again. The family continued to hold pool parties were countless guests would die and bring back the Grim Reaper much to Jim’s amusement. Jim was sent off to military school during this time as well because of his lack of parental supervision.Â
While off in military school, Jim was given even less attention. His parents never wrote, and he found out his mother died in a horrible fire from another student who heard it from one of the teachers. Jim spent all his childhood away as Dick went on many adventures, and slept with many men and women. Upon returning home, Jim was greeted with his father living in a tent on burnt land where his childhood home used to be. The duo moved away to begin the next part of their adventure.
