A whole lot of you.
On this day in music history: December 13, 1969 - “Someday We’ll Be Together” by Diana Ross & The Supremes hits #1 on the Billboard R&B singles chart for 4 weeks, also topping the Hot 100 for 1 week on December 27, 1969. Written by Jackey Beavers, Johnny Bristol and Harvey Fuqua, it is the sixth R&B and twelfth pop chart for the superstar Motown trio. “Someday We’ll Be Together” is originally recorded by Bristol and Beavers (as the duo Johnny & Jackey) and released on Harvey Fuqua’s Tri-Phi label in 1961. After Bristol becomes a staff writer and producer at Motown several years later, he’ll play the song for Berry Gordy who hears it as a hit for The Supremes. It is Ross’ final single with The Supremes before departing for a solo career in early 1970. Though credited as a group effort, it is technically a solo single by Ross since Mary Wilson and Cindy Birdsong do not actually sing on it. The female background vocals are sung by Maxine and Julia Waters, with co-writer and producer Johnny Bristol himself also singing on the finished record. The initial tracking date for “Someday” takes place at Motown’s Studio A in Detroit on June 13, 1969 with The Funk Brothers playing on the basic track. Additional dates when vocals and strings are overdubbed are unknown. Released on October 14, 1969, it is an immediate smash. The group appear together for the last time on The Ed Sullivan Show on December 21, 1969 to promote the single, which on the pop singles chart is the last number one single of the 1960’s the following week. “Someday” is covered by a number of artists over the years including versions by Vonda Shepard, and Lorrie Morgan. Janet Jackson’s 1993 single “If” (#4 Pop, #3 R&B) also samples the intro of Ross & The Supremes version. “Someday We’ll Be Together” is certified Platinum in the US by the RIAA.

This is beyond disgusting.
Jazzy Rowe could have died, because of her roommates racism. The school tried to intimidate her into silence, but she speaking out and the multi cultural organizations at the school are meeting tomorrow (Nov. 1st) to support her.
The Woman who openly admitted to poisoning her roommate is Brianna “Breezy” Borchu. She was the roommate of Jazzy Rowe at The University of Hartford.

If there’s one thing I’ll give 2017 over 2016, it’s that it’s kind of stunning that the year is mostly over?
2016 felt like the year that would never die.
2017 is a hectic nightmare that never slows down enough for you to be aware of the passage of time.
