Beauty and the Beast AU: In a faraway land, Prince Jacob is well educated, well mannered and a lover of the arts. Unfortunately, he’s also arrogant, hard headed and a bit quick to anger, especially in matters of scholarship. He’s also been notoriously picky when it comes to finding a suitable bride. He needs to marry to secure the kingdom, but he continues to insist that nothing less than a love match will do. While his parents are in the midst of throwing yet another ball to introduce Jacob to several suitable brides, hoping he will fall for one of them, Jacob makes the mistake of getting into an academic debate with a wizard named Jenkins.
Elsewhere in the kingdom, Jenkins’ grand niece the Lady Cassandra, lives a quiet removed life far from court, despite her high birth. The only daughter in a family of sons, Cassandra is highly educated and a bit spoiled. But despite their cover story that as the only daughter, Cassandra is meant to take care of her parents and not marry, the truth as to why she has not been offered in the marriage market is darker. Desperate for a girl after so many boys, her mother made a foolish bargain with a witch. The baby was a girl but she is cursed with headaches, seizures and visions. Jenkins, despite his love for her, has been unable to cure her. The only cure is for her to find her true love, the one whose voice can lead her out of her head. Jenkins has tried but Cassandra’s parents are terrified for their only daughter and keep her away instead of letting her meet this true love.
Jenkins had gone to the ball in hopes of getting an introduction to the prince for Cassandra. But the young man’s arrogance and stubbornness prove too much for the old wizard and before he can think twice, Jenkins puts a curse on the boy. Suddenly Jacob has no memory of his learning and the arts and worse yet (from the standpoint of his family), he loses his breeding and manners. Now he is an uncouth, ill tempered commoner, wanting nothing to do with his family and court life, preferring to work with his hands and get into tavern fights. His mother sometimes sees flashes of her son and begs Jenkins to reverse the spell. He relents under one condition, Jacob must spend time with Cassandra. Perhaps they will fall in love and reverse both spells.
Jacob has been exiled to the “Library”, a run down family estate. He’s content to remodel the place far away from his old life. He reacts with fury when Cassandra is dumped on his lap, thinking it’s another attempt at marry him off, something he wants no part of now. Cassandra is bewildered and frightened, reacting with fear and anger of her own to this strange man. But she gets under his skin and flashes of the gentle man he could be come out. Will they find common ground and save themselves?
It’s like he’s her refuge or anchor and she’s his encouragement and strength. They both give the other something they’ve never really had and it allows them to be who they want to be and do things they’ve never dreamed they would.

Hey LITs! It’s been another great year for this fandom with another amazing season gone and by. And some people have been asking if i’ll be holding the same Shipathon I did last summer, and the answer is an enthusiastic yes!
Last spring, me (queerseth) and some other LITs had the idea to spread a celebration of all of our wonderful ships over three months, since three is the magic number, and it also leads up perfectly to when the show will return in the fall! Just like last year, this year’s Shipathon will be taking place over the summer and into the fall, from the start of July to the end of September.
Each week has a designated ship/relationship/group of relationships, and for each week you can do whatever you want to celebrate that relationship - gifs, videos, writing, edits, playlists, just posting about what you like about that relationship! We tried to be as inclusive as possible!
Just like last year, the ships are chosen based off of what is most prevalent in the show and in the fandom. This fandom isn’t very big, so trust me when we tell you, we know it like the back of our hand. But if you have a ship that isn’t included, remember that this is only a guideline for a general celebration of ships and you can post about whatever rare ship you want! Just remember to tag it with #librariansshipathon so that we can all see it, find it, and so that I can reblog it to this blog, which will serve as a kind of archive.
With 5 months until July still, I’m posting this now to give us all as much time as possible to prepare! Last year we had less time but it still went off wonderfully, let’s see what we can do this year, to fill the void of the hiatus!
NOTE: This isn’t just about romance! You can appreciate the dynamics between these characters in any way you want! Please respect everyone’s ships and interpetations, no hate here!

in terms of the found-family structure of the Librarians cast, a lot of people seem to go with Eve and Flynn as Mom and Dad, the junior Librarians as the kids, and often Jenkins as an uncle/grandpa-esque figure, especially since Trial of the Triangle and the whole ‘leaving me alone with the kids’ thing (which, for the record, I did adore and also laugh out loud at)
but if you ask me, Eve and Flynn are not Mom and Dad - Eve and Jenkins are. (I really don’t think the Mom and Dad figures in found families need to be a couple, btw. I think it happens a lot but isn’t necessary.) Eve definitely does the tough-love, pushing-them-to-be-better thing, and despite her distress at being ‘like a mother’ to alt!Ezekiel she definitely takes on that role for all three of them, though pretty much never the stereotypical ways - she worries about them (but doesn’t fret), she pushes them, she educates them, she disciplines them, she listens to and encourages them
Jenkins is in his own words a caretaker. despite his grumpiness he is very much there to look after his new kids Librarians (“there is nothing that would stop me from coming after you”). he’s also there - all the time - as a source of knowledge, as a resource for the Librarians (and Eve and Flynn too) when there are things they don’t know or understand. he offers insight and comfort and, like Eve, discipline when necessary. and he loves them - he tells Cassandra that he loves her very much and tbh he definitely loves all of them. I also have very strong feelings about him as a positive paternal figure for Cassandra in particular but that’s material for a whole other post entirely
I would classify Flynn as more like ‘Mom’s really goofy boyfriend who loves them all but is a terrible influence because he has no idea how to look after children,’ lmao. he isn’t around all the time although he’s trying to be, especially as he comes to appreciate their family more and more. he fucks up because he hasn’t had his own family in a long time but he always comes through in the end because he loves them and he wants that family to work. we’ve seen his tenderness come through with Cassandra especially. that said he doesn’t know what the heck he’s doing when it comes to The Kids so sometimes Eve does have to say ‘FLYNN NO’ before he gets them into something ridiculous and Not A Good Idea
(I also have many feelings about Ezekiel being Everybody’s Little Brother but this post is supposed to be more about the Mom/Dad dynamic so)
anyway obviously everyone is gonna have their own interpretations of these dynamics but that’s really how I read them. and I haven’t seen as much material about dad!Jenkins out there so I thought I’d pitch in my five cents
I totally agree but also I think Flynn could play the Fun Uncle role as well. Eve would be like "don't give them candy after six" and Flynn would be like "guess whose eating candy after six". He kind of comes in spoils the kids and then leaves while they're hyped up on sugar for Mama Eve to deal with :)

In another universe, Jacob Stone works his family’s cattle ranch but yearns to be a writer. Cassandra Cillian is determined to make it on her own, away from the shadow of her family. When she ends up in small town and finds a business for sale, she seizes the opportunity to open a funky coffee shop/bookstore.
Jacob stumbles upon the place during his weekly trip into town and finds a refuge where he can be himself. He finds himself taking the trip as often as he can, not just to be able to write, though he spends hours doing that, but to talk to the owner.
Hours of conversation and countless coffees later, and two soulmates find the courage to pursue their dreams. Together.
On another thread of the Loom of Fate, Jacob Stone has been the sole Librarian for quite a while when the Library assigns him a Guardian: Cassandra Cillian. Stone is initially skeptical of slight framed floral dress wearing Cassandra and isn’t happy about working with someone else. But Cassandra’s skills and more importantly her quiet caring and encouragement win him over. And eventually their close working relationship becomes a romantic one.
Jake ‘I’m about to do something dangerous…better check with the wife first’ Stone and Cassandra ‘It’s ok babe. It sucks but I get it. Go do something dangerous and heroic.’ Cillian are just…they’re very special to me.
